I would like to discuss the Importance of Education in our society?, does education makes one a better human (ie Personality wise) than a non-educated person?, I don't think so, I am a Computer science post graduate, I have to admit My degree has helped me alot to understand issues hence helped me to get a good job, but it has not changed my personality?
what are your views ?

Who taught U all these crap?
Tamilnadu and Tamils gave a biggest sum of money to suypport the govt during the Kargil war time.
Seems like U hardly know about Tamils or Thamizh.
Is ur real name KajaN? It can not be. You must be someone with a name like "KajaNA" or of that sort.

Hi all..
Regarding Sarada's..
>>"""if u list selffish people, tamils will be on >>top of the list"""
>>Who taught U all these crap?
I am couldn't stop laughing at ur nakkal. :-))
I could appreaciate your genuine Tamizh feeling...
Can I ask u a Question?
I read recent News reports that
TAMILS IN KARNATAKA are AGAINST the genuine tamil cause in Cauvery Issue. If our own tamils dont support, how would others in the state would respond ?
Can they be Called as PACHONINGAL/SELFISH ???
We cant even blame them..
Even if we go and live there, one might do that..
It boils down to survival.
Tamil avudhu..onnavudhu... :-((
what I am coming to say is..
Basically what one does good or bad,i feel, are based upon the family Values and brought-up
one had.One would be very same person, whatever language he/she speaks.

3. tamil movements in srilanka
4. tamil gangs in foreign countries
5. crul minded students (rises becos of compitition)
It is very sad to ponit out that, but we don't get out of samll circle.
By the miss,
this is my first and last reply to a ponitless person (U). I wont mind u in future.

Raghu,
It is true that Sri Lanka has a high literacy rate.So does Kerala. However both these states have a very high percentage of people working outside their economic zones. So literacy alone will not change things.People's mindset need to change. Many Chinese in the Far East are not literate. But they have built successful business empires that employs very highly qualified people.
People must be prepared to work very hard, be enterprising and learn wealth creation NOT wealth destruction in the name of race, language and religion.

Do these "many chinese" live with society (neighbours, friends, strangers) kuttifying on their head every now and then and keeping them "in their place" as it happens in India every day?

AlwaysRight ,
I think u r pointing r me,
>>that guy got angry on me and hez saying hez the only intelligent guy in the world<<
I rarely get angry in this thread and I never got angry on ur postings.
But I strongly object ur posting about hai madan article becos u wrote it has been for few years ( it is more than 7 years that does not mean few )
Could pl point out one place where I wrote or mean that "hez saying hez the only intelligent guy in the world". If one points out another one's mistake does it mean guy is intelligent ?
So I think u r wrong again.
By the way if one points out my mistake I will accept it !
Raghu,
Did u c my email ?

Kajan..
I'm sorry...u r mistaken me...
For sure I'm not pointing out u Sir. Itz somebody else. Hope Raghu knows about that.
Regarding the Hai Madhan issue, the word 'FEW' depends on the people who r saying that. For a 10 yrs. old boy 'Few' means 1 or 2 years... and for a 30 years guy 'Few' means 8 to 10 years...and for a 80 years old person 'Few' means 15 - 20 years...
And again, i didnt point out u..and really i'm happy while u says some good points about OUR Vikatan's Madhan

kuttu :):) is hitting someone on the head with your knuckles, although in this case I was using it figuratively to refer to the great Indian tradition of putting other people down and keeping them "in their place".

I have never heard of this proverb, but you see what I mean! this is a typical example. So the guy who gets kuttified must feel, hey, I am not a madaiyan, I am this great fellow, but I crawl on the floor to avoid the kuttu!!! What a tradition!

Dear sir,
Hope you are fine. I 'am a post graduate student and I 'ld like to publish some of my poems in English as a book. It would be greatly helpful, with some advise and suggestions from you of the procedures involved in it and the publishing houses, which will be interested in such writings.
Yours sincerely,
A.Malar.

They say the more education, the more tendency to be skeptical, lose idealistic thoughts that mark the youthful years, be cynical, etc.
The more intelligent (maybe knowledge-wise) the more unhappy. There is a quote saying (paraphrased)"One has yet to see an intelligent person happy". Maybe this is true, somewhat.
Education does increase crystallized intelligence, which may cause more rift between the ignorant and the knowing. This may lead to more prejudice and closed-minded attitude of educated people toward the ignorant.
However, I would like to think that the more education, the more open-minded, and willingness to accept other views different from one's own and thus, achieve a greater working sphere of understanding about our world and the people.
I think it may change personality in the sense of being more generally aware of options and leanings and interests, but I think it accentuates the core of the person: that is inclination toward good or bad. I think other elements of personality may be magnified as well.
You know, they say knowledge is good, but a person with some knowledge may misunderstand, not fully understand, or even misuse this. It may even affect the personality to make ti cocky and arrogant. But a person with sufficient, comprehensive, and thorough knowledge will understand there is much more to know and how little he knows, thus leading to humbleness and self-effacement.
Who knows if these things are really true and if these theories really do play out in life...

i think educated people have a duty... a moral duty to teach the uneducated and more importantly, to be open-minded towards their ignorance. The intiation of goodwill should start from the educated. Otherwise, what good is education, if it makes a person foul?
Now, this is theory. It is moral "ought to", and it is very difficult in practice for the learned to swallow hard and be PATIENT and LISTEN to the uneducated person's train of thought.
Regardless of education, everyone is precious. Everyone is valuable and has valuable opinions and life experiences. I personally think that education is lifelong and one can pick it up for the first time in their 60'S, even!
Education is not formal either. Books are practically free and experiences don't cost hundreds to thousands of dollars either. Self-taught is better for disciplining the soul.
