Hi guys/gals,
it's nice to see so many with refined reading tastes.
For those who go for fiction,
I'd suggest Erich segal, his"Class",my eternal favourite.Jeffrey archer is one guy with excellent imagination and his shortstories are a feast. Also,go for fredrick forsyth's"Day of the jackal" and"Odessa files".His novels give u loads of history to chew in ur mind.Among non fiction,"the city of Joy-calcutta"by J.Lapiere is fine.A book on the leadership qualities of Hitler(forgot the author though) is a beginer's course on leadership.Bye for now and happy reading.

The best book i ever read was J.R.R. Tolkiens The Lord Of the Rings. The description of every character and also the scenery and also the language used in the book was really mystical.
I admire the great pain taken by Tolkien on drawing up the family trees of the Lords of Gondor, Rohan and the Dwarfs. The dates and also how middle earth was created. I still think it has the best appendix any book can have.
Like its review "The english speaking world is divided into two, those who have read it and those who haven't"
A very good book that every man, woman and child should read.

I thought that "Priya." and "Vikram" (sujatha's novels) were both better than the movie.

I simply loved Rohinton Mistry books:
1. A Fine Balance (wonderful book, to me the title itself holds a lot of meaning, there really is a fine balance between life and death and we live in the middle).
2. Such A Long Journey was equally excellent.
3. Family Matters (the meaning of family is revealed to you in this book)
Harry Potter books were great, they were an escape from reality. It's full of adventure and mystery, great books to read. I also liked Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, such great characters. I especially loved Mr. Darcy.
I'm glad some1 started this thread, I plan to read all the recommeded books. They all sound great.
