There are many types of henna to get different things.
There is hand / feet henna and henna for dying the hair and henna for just giving the hair strength.
I've tried 2 out of the 3 types of henna that I mentioned in my list. However, I cannot get my hair dyed. PLS help me out!!!!

  since it seems you're not getting any good help from the other people posting things, i'll put my thought into this.
  i've used henna on nearly every part of my body. i'm obsessed with it. unfortunately i have not yet died my hair with henna. i will soon, though! it's simple, you can buy kits at your regular grocery store (usualy they're there) or you can just use regular henna and add coloring if you want, but mind you, it doesn't stay as long as dye does.

  U can dye ur hair with 100 percent effect. It cant be however achieved in 1 time trial. Apply or keep applying every fortnight.
  
  Plain henna wont give colour. Mix tea decoction and soak the same over night. Next day apply the paste on the hair and leave it for 2 hours or so. Rinse ur hair with tepid water.
  
  Keep doing this every fortnight.
  Just remmeber the following
  
  
  *Henna can give u only auburn dye.
  *It would take fairly long time, to turn a black hair into auburn.
  
  Apart from that I am not sure, of other colouring effect u are talking (or michelle ) about.
