Do Hindus in TamilNadu (and other places in the South) avoid pork like they avoid beef, or does it depend on which caste a person belongs to ? I suppose most non-vegetarians eat chicken and maybe mutton also ?
Just curious ...

In general, they avoid pork too. I do not know a single pork-eating Hindu in South.

Pork is available in Tamilnadu sandhais etc, I specifically recall seeing it once in a velli kizhamai sandhai that I went to in salem. So I would assume that there might be pork eaters among Hindus.
