I have started this thread for Aluminis from A M Jain College, Meenambakkam, Madras. Please keep it exclusive to friends from this college.

  Hi,
  Iam Samir K Shaji from the English Department. I studied at AM Jain from 1989 - 1991 and successfully completed BA in English Literature. I remember my friends from the class: Nawas Hussein, Kalyanaraman, Mohan, Varadarajan, S. Sukumar, Sudarshan, Vinod, Suresh Krishna, Manohar and Sangiyanter Ponganeir. Sadly I have lost touch with them. I would love to get in touch with them. I was also part of the NCC Artillary Wing. Attended ATC camps at Kasum - Vellore and Attachment camp in Hyderabad. I had the best of my times at college. I would like to thank my department professors and NCC-In-Charge Major Sethuraman who have shaped me to be a good human being. I remember professor VKR was our HOD, and other professors - MUS, NSK, MRK, Mohan Bose... Indeed I am happy to be wirting here.

  Replying to Dr. N. Srinivasan's question.
  Sir, I work in an Advertising Agency as a Copywriter. My job is to create ideas for advertisments and write the copy part of ads, scripts for advertising films and radio commercials.
  
  Though considered as a refuge camp for those who cannot make it to other educational degree courses, I feel a literature student has a wider range of job oppotunities, provided he/she decides the career they wish to pursue. This can range from Journalism, Television, Advertising, Marketing, Research, Theatre, Armed forces, Civil Services to mention a few. Add to that, students with a creative mind can find the course really rewarding.
  
  After graduating from A.M. Jain College and went on to do MA in Journalism and Mass Communication from the Madras University.
  
  Sir, I have a request. Will you be able to persuade our college management to set up its own web site. I am sure all the ex students of the college will be ineterested in meeting up after all these years of staying out of touch.

  I am also a student of good ol' AM Jain. I studied Economics (1988-1991)- day college. so we are contemporaries. I think we must have met before but I'm sorry I dont quite recollect your name. Do you remember that Economics & English students had English subjects together ?
  I remember some of the friends names you have mentioned viz; Nawaz Hussein, Vinod, Sangiyanter Ponganeir(by that unique name) !
  I remember all the English professors that you have mentioned by their initials.
  
  I am touch with at least 4 other Economics students who were with me viz; Giri Hariharan, Vinod, Sathyanarayanan & Ram Kumar. Do you remember these names ?
  
  I am now working in Muscat, Oman.

  So finally AM Jain has turned to a co-ed college !!
  Alas, we, the batch of '88-'91 were 15 years too early.. ;-) ha.ha..
  In fact I remember this topic going around in our campus in early 90-91 (at the fag end of our term) so, today, after more than a decade we are witnessing something that we boys only dreamts of !!
