Hi,
Can anyone tell me the history and origin of karuneegar pillai and also the regions where they are widely present?

  Its quite natural that we are not able to trace back to our origin and even today many of our community people do not know how many sub-sects are there in our community. I hereby submit few lines for your info and request you to forward the same to our people so that they will at least know some important points.
  Ref..ADARVANA VEDA
  Maharshi DURVASA visits SATYA LOKA and on being ignored by Lord BRAHMA, curses BRAHMA to take birth again there by losing some sanctity. As a result, Lord BRAHMA is born to Lord SURYA as third son and is named CHITRAGUPTA. First, he was ruler of entire universe and later on advice of Lord SURYA becomes minister cum accountant of Lord YAMAH. All his sons had become kings / ministers / saints.   Since Lord Chitraguptha is born out of SOUL & MIND of LORD BRAHMA, he is also called KAYASTHA (means born from soul and body). Hence this community is known as KAYASTHAS.
