Kajan,
Just now I have seen in the TV news..It was a warm welcome, though there is no happiness in the faces of players.Everybody knows Australia deserves to win and If people won't recognise a better performance throughout the tournament,I would say people are blind.

Joe,
As a friend. I am worried about ur posting too.
There so many people critizing and/ or bashing India and SriLanka.
good example, the best spin bowler ( judged by Wisdom, ICC ) was described as Javeline thrower. This is from one of regular member LLDas.
From you,
>>Srilanka lost to Kenya, then against India in a cheap manner,,still he contineously sais 'Lion' are the only team can beat australia...On a funny day anybody can win any better team..I know..But when a team beat all other teams except one...still he shamlessly claimed some stupid things like 'Lion'(I don't know how they are called like this)which somehow managed to enter in to super six after loosing too many matches <<
*** preliminary round and Super six,
Srilanka lost to three countries, Kenya, India and Australia. All three selected for semifinal.
So SriLanka is deserved to be semifinalist. It is wrong that they managed to get a place.
*** SriLanka is called as Lions like Austraian as Kangarooos, NewZelans as Black caps. C the the flag of SriLanka.

Kajan,
Please understand I didn't mean Srilanka didn't deserve semi final..Let it be..But if some one say A team lost to Australia,India and kenya deserves more than a team which lost to australia only..Do you think how many times we can keep silent in the name of not creating unncessary problem..
For a response he posted Bharathiyar's posting..I didn't agree with bharathiyar..But we don't bother him till Bharathiyar has the same opinion till the end ..But Mr.Raghu always confusing us with his contradicting statements..
Anyway,I wanted to stop with this just not to hurt good Srilankans like you.Thank you.

Joe,
Raghu Sir is in a time warp.He never fails to mention the 1996 semi final.1999 taunton and 2003 wanderers just do not come to his memory.

kalpana,
Eventhough on 1996 incident,I want to clariffy with you as I am not good in memories of past matches..If I am not wrong,I have taken the behavier of those mad culcutta crowd as a anger on Indian players..They were upset and misbehaved against Indian players, not Srilankan players..Can you clarify this?

>>Here our friend insited that without Sachin India couldn't win..In the same match in which sachin scored only 3 against Kenya,we didn't loose,we won it without sachin's contribution... <<
Here our friend Joe proved his incompetence in his understanding skills, yet again, :)
I never said India never win without Sachin, all I said was the Indians hugely rely on sachin on many occasions!

Raghu,
Thanks for your 'Saaljaapu'..Even now you will argue that present Srilankan team is far far better than Present Indian team. Can't take it more.Better both of us keep distance for the betterment of both.

Raghu,
Obviously You are bad example for Srilankans in this sports discussion. There is no second question.
//I BEG your higness to forgive this bad Sri lankan//
Better you ask this to other good Srilankans who are not blind.

Joe,
Even though the anger was against the indian players,i think one or two SL players got hit by bottles.
Writer Sujatha says in his recent chapter of 'Katrathum Petrathum' in anatha vikatan that there was a lot of anger and hatred among some significant proportion of the chennai fans towards pakistan in the recent match. He says this might be due to kargil and the BJP.Chennai is the most sporting and knowledgeable crowd. It will be really sad if it's get affected by the north indian phenomenon of mixing cricket with a narrow religion based nationalism.

Kalpana,
Yeah, that is very sad news..I was very proud that particular test match against Pakiatan at chennai..The whole crowd wanted India to win..But when in the last min pakistan won the match..there was 2 mins silence in the ground..Once the pakistan players acknowledges the crowd for their victory, the great Chennai crowd gave a standing ovation to pakiatan players..I have seen tears coming out of some pakiatan palyers..At the time I was really proud of our Chennai people..sad to see fanatism growing up because of various political reasons.

Sharjah cup has been called off due to security reasons. The relevant authorities are planning to reschedule and change the venue. According to Sri Lankan MTV news they may probably have it in Sri Lanka or Morocco not in Pakistan.
