In the early hrs of Saturday (1.45am) the ex-CM Mr.Karunanidhi was arrested without any arrest warrant and was taken into custody, the police brutally attacked him when he asked for the arrest warrant, the 78 yr old Politician was pulled out of his house roughly and was taken into custody, The Union Minister Mr.Muralsoli Maran who tried to save him was also thrown out of the house by a Police, this sort of activity should be severely dealt with and all the person including the existing CM Ms.Jayalalithaa and all the Police personnel who where behind the scene should be punished, Please do comment, This matter is a real threat to the Democratic nation and if this sought of activities continue Indians will lose confidence and start to think whether this is a Democratic conutry or a country ruled by any Dictator.

  DMK president M Karunanidhi broke down at least twice during his press conference after being released from Chennai central prison this evening.
  
  Karunanidhi’s eyes were moist on several occasions. Initially, he struggled to speak forcefully but as time went by, he picked up his characteristic style of rhetoric, humour and quick repartees.
  
  The first time he broke down was when he narrated how he struggled to write a letter to the Home Secretary, returning the police security provided to him in view of the failure of his police guards to protect him before his arrest on June 30.
  
  “This hand which could write a 1,000 letters to Murasoli (the party organ), could not write a letter to the Home Secretary today,” he said, in a choked voice. Tears ran down his cheeks and he had to be comforted by Union Minister Murasoli Maran and party general secretary K Anbazhagan.
  
  The second time he wept was when he referred to the scene where Murasoli Maran was asked not to accompany him in his car to the residence of the judge. “Maran was bodily removed and I cried out for his safety, ’’ Karunanidhi said. “I cried not just because he is my nephew but because all of us are aware that just six months ago, he survived a battle for his life. I was worried about his health.”
  
  About his own health, Karunanidhi said he was alright except for some pain in his legs, hip and right shoulder. “Even earlier, I could not stand for more than two minutes and I used to feel slightly dizzy. However, I have had a check-up with my doctor and he has said I don’t need to go to the hospital,” he added.

  so now do u (and others who supported the police claim) agree that what the police claimed is totally false......
  
  i also agree that MK and other's used the situation to get more name..... but then was this situation needed in the first place ? this lady - i would say is not clever at all.... she could have done this whole arrest in a smooth way - no one would have objected to it..... in fact no one here is objecting to the arrest - but the way the whole thing was done - that's what had messed it up..... a 78 year old guy - pulled away from his home at midnight - what was the need ? and what was the charge ? where was the warrant ?
  
  and as "comments" put it - no one was angry with DMK rule for Veerapaan issue or whatever (i think u read Thuglaq Srinath - i used to, but stopped of late after CHO took a 180 degree turn around and started to jalra adichufiy Jaya), but just that all the vote bank - TMC, Cong, PMK, joined together which lead to downfall of DMK......
  
  whatever, MK just got back for the wrong doings he had done some years back - when Jaya got stripped in the assembly..... hmmm.... had that incident not happened, may be she would have ran away from politics - oh man, TN lost a golden opportunity.....
