It is said that Thirukural was written by Thiruvalluvar during 2000 AD and the age of Thirukural is 2035 now. After this was written by Thiruvalluvar, so many ageold scripts like Pathupattu, Ettuthogai, Seerapuranam, Kalithogai,Thevaram,Thiruvasagam etc.,were written by Great poets. Is there any mention about Thirukural in anyone of the scripts, written after the period of Thiruvalluvar? Plz.answer.

Well, I know for sure - the author of Silapathikaram - Elango Adigal quotes Valluvar. And Elango lived during about 150CE (AD)!
Do you need the Silapathikara verse?

I appeared first in the South Food section of Forumhub with the nick 'Idiappam' and it stuck on! My nick needs a change, anyway - it has lost its lustre over the years. Thanks!

Interesting, Thiru Idiappam ! Although it is an indirect "quote", could there be a possibility that ILangO adigaL thought of that phrase himself ?

Exact replica of the line....... Ilango could have thought of it himself? What are the chances?

Well, that was just a thought; did not mean to offend your source or interpretation.
:))
Has any Sangam poet directly quoted Valluvar ? Again, just a question, not trying to attack :)

By "directly quoted Valluvar", I mean has anybody said "According to Valluvar... or according to thirukkuraL..."
The limitations of a second language are quite evident here :)

Thank you PG, for your transliteration.
Mr Sridhar, Manimegalai, written by SAthanAr around the same time of Ilango, have the full Kural quote too:
Manimegalai, siRai sei kAthai 22: 59-61 goes:
"¦¾öÅõ ¦¾¡Æ¡ «û ¦¸¡Ø¿ý ¦¾¡ØÐ ±ØÅ¡û
¦Àö ±Éô ¦ÀöÔõ ¦ÀÕ Á¨Æ" ±ýÈ «ô
¦À¡ö¢ø ÒÄÅý ¦À¡Õ٨à §¾È¡ö!
here sAthanAr, refers to Valluvar as 'poiyil pulavar'
There are some information on an earlier thread at the literature section. see:
