hi this is just a start to a big thing which i want to accompolish by the help of all considerate co-humans .
Human feelings though seem to stray and wander are all basically the same. All of us want to help someothers in life particularly the less fortunate fellow beings in someway or the other. But channelizing this effort needs one or more persons dedicated effort which i am ready to offer to start with. As a start of this activity just throw your ideas back on this ... i am inbetween a very hectic schedule so i will talk more later....

Hi selvi, "help to fellow human beings" sounds very general and it could actually take or come in many forms. Could you just detail on something you have in mind in particular?

Guys, please throw in only constructive ideas to realize a noble cause. Thathuvavaathi, your needs will certainly be taken care of but please give some time for this dream to atleast start to take shape. The idea is not to start a Fund or something like that, I think you all realize and understand this. The idea is to gather views on how to start something like a movement or an organization that dedicates itself to helping out whoever that comes totally helpless. BTW, I know Selvi personally, we are long time friends and am totally aware of how well she has cherished this dream of hers for a long time now. Please respect her (our) feelings and contribute your valued opinions, suggestions, and ideas. Thanks.

Karthi,
Please understand it is the lack of details, context and jerky tone of the message that attracted the barbs. I find the level of discussion in the forum hub to be very high and people are really nice to one another. If selvi and you come with ideas and suggestions, you will really find that people will pay due attention.
For comparison try posting a message along the lines of "hi people please be kind to one another and help each other. Right now I'm busy see you later, ta ta" in any other place in the usenet newsgroups or bulletin boards. You would not believe the kind of upgly retorts it will attract.
Politeness is the key strength of the forumhub. I am sure you will discover this fact on your own very soon.

Back in 1997 I read a plea in a Tamil Cyber Community from a group of youngsters asking for some monetary investments towards their project called"kuRalamutham".
It has been their dream to bring our "thirukkuRaL" in a cd-rom.
And on that wonderful day when I read their mail :
Still I've no idea what came over me, in a spontaneous deciding moment I wanted to help these guys from Chennai without any kind of pondering whatsoever!!
So I wrote them an e-mail, here I'm from almost nowhere [New Mexico- USA]
offering these youngmen based in Chennai a monetary help! At first they couldn't believe it themselves, neither did I for that matter!!!
See, I've never met or heard about this group of young men before and vice versa.
[to make it short]
Well , I sent them a loan free of interest with no conditions whatsoever.
They did take a while...but boy ! was it worth it,ever...
Those talented Youth call themselves "Chennai KavigaL" and their dream did come true when they released the "kuRalamutham' cd-rom.
For me having played the part of a catalyst, however small has given me a such a humble but fufilling feeling, I sure hope and pray to GOD he gives many more opportunities to do more.

Helping the society in which we live-in, based on linguistic or religious barrier is good but we should not deprive the others who are in need of the same. And money is not all what one needs, compassion, love & trust also lacks in the world which is becoming more materialistic. i feel there are broadly two ways of helping people ...(i) Provide the needy with what they need for them to grow ... could be money or matter or morale ...etc..
...(ii) curb the hinderance thats in the way of confident & upcoming society/person by means of money , power or defaction.
Not very clear of ideas due to lack of time to ponder on this ...
Will get back with more thoughts when i think.

Money or materiele were not the only requisites for dharma or dhana. Dharma and dhana were based on a firm foundation of compassion, love, ethical values, and conviction. There were 32 types of them described.
Money does not help at all times.
In Shakespeare's Richard III, you wil find Richard fighting against odds in the Battle of Bosworth field. Many of his soldiers desert him.
At that time, he slips from his horse. And the horse runs away.
Richard is on his feet and surrounded. He could escape and come back with another army.
Otherwise, he would die.
So he utters the famous words,"A horse! A horse!! My kingdom for a horse!!!"
Of what use is his kingdom if he loses his life? A horse is the only object that has the power to let him have a chance to live..... and make a come-back.
So a horse is equal to a king's life in that incident.
You give him a horse, and you give him his life.
Thus its the requisite that makes a dhana valuable.
And its also the degree of affordability of a person that makes it valuable.
A person needs something very badly. Yet he gives that to a person who is more needy than him.
That is value added dhana.
So its not always the money that matters.
