Parasakthi,
I am not an ardent DMK fellaw. If you want to talk about the acheivements of Maran,
you can start a topic on him. But this topic
is about praying for somebody who is having
ill health.
Every religion is talking about heaven and hell.
If you die either you go to heaven or hell based on your karma. If one has done all good things,
he is definitely going to the heaven. If it is the case, why some body is crying or praying for that. Is it just because he is suffering?
If it is so, why cant you take it as a woman at the labour. Any way she is going to get a child and be happy. Few minutes sufferings wont be big issue.
If somebody is going to hell, then we should be happy. Because he has done all evils towards us, and he is going to get punished.
The above said are from religious perspectives.
I am an atheist and I am worrying for Maran too, because he has been working very hard for our community. His experience and knowledge will be always helpful to us. He has been fighting for the people who are suffering. Hence I dont want to see him suffering. I will do whatever I can do to remove his sufferings. I will send the hospital a cheque of Rs 1000/- for his treatment.
I am not going to pray for him, but I am going to motivate the doctors that if they work hard and vigilant they can bring back a lion hearted to his normal life and he will work for our people. But I am not going to be a coward. I will do whatever I can for his recovery.

Maran is one minister who was doing a great job, surprisingly I might add. The one good minister was kumramangalam and he is gone, now maran is fighting for life, another efficient minister suresh prabhu was eased out and the other goodie shourie is hemmed on all sides by opportunistic charlatans. So much so for the good guys, while criminals like advani, joshi, fernandes and uma are roaring high. Ennada ullagam idhu?

I don't know this Indian minister but I wish him well, mainly to counter the horrible notion on this page that sick people deserve sickness. Surely believing that of people instead of wanting the best outcome for your fellow man and one of your leaders would makes you MUCH LESS religious. There are some deeply religious atheists on this thread and I'm sure if there's a heaven there's room for them in it.
