I think some classes are being conducted by the Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha.
But since you are in New Zealand, the best option would be to - See old hindi movies and as many as hindi movies as possible.
Here is a website:

Hindi is the third most widely spoken language in the world. First and second are Mandarin and English.

Mandarin is Chinese. It is like calling Hindi as Indian.

The best way to master spoken hindi is to watch hindi movies, TV programmes, and advertisements...and then try speaking to your friends or relatives who knows the language...books can only give you the spelling..through these u know how they pronounce it too...take my words..this is how we all learnt...when there was only doordarshan available before..

It depends on the level of compulsion and also your flair. If one always stays in the company of Tamils(or the respective language speakers) and always keep talking that the North Indians are up to spoil one's life, Hindi nahin aasakti hai.Hindi vaalOnkE saat rahO tabhi seekhsaktE hO.
If you are in Tamil Nadu and you want to speak in Hindi, it will take a lot of perseverence.
As some have pointed out , seeing movies and listening to songs should improve your comprehension.
