I find that most Indians shave before having their bath while Americans shave after their bath. I personally find that shaving after bath makes the skin softer and leads to less skin burn. So my question is, why Indians prefer to shave before their bath?

The other thing I find different between Indian and American men is the manner in which they take off their T-shirts. Americans pull them out by grabbing the collar part. Indians pull them out by grabbing the waist part, which also causes the t-shirt to be turned inside out after removing. But interestingly enough, Ameerican women (at least the ones I have known) remove them the Indian way. Don't know why.

  According to Hindu aka Indian custom, shaving, cutting the hair, cutting nails etc, and such activities must be done before bath. If you do it after bath it is considered that you must take bath again to purify yourself. The first thing after bath must be praying (lighting the lamp etc. in the Pooja Room). A visit to the coiffure should also be done only before a bath. The first thing after coming in from the coiffure should be bathing (all the clothes you were wearing when you visited the coiffure must be soaked in water). Comparing these with American customs is wrong. I am not telling this is right or that is wrong. But one is religio-cultural abound with tradition while the other is just comfort. How many Americans take a bath after coming in from attending a funeral? whereas it is very important and a must in Hindu custom. (here also one must soak all the clothes one was wearing during the funeral).
  As India is a sultry tropical country they always take out the T-shirt/vest/banian in such a way that it can be put in the cloth-line for drying the sweat.
  These things should not be compared. Because comparison will end up in the argument that one is right and the other wrong!
