Five mothers humiliated for refusing to hand over children to LTTE

[13th May 2002]

Tamil tiger recruiters who have arrived at the village of Kannigipuram, in Valachchena area are recruiting children to their organization arbitrarily. Five mothers who objected to their children being forcefully taken away had their heads shaven and made to walk on the thoroughfare shouting that they would here after never object to anything done by the LTTE.

The Army sources say the terror they have towards the LTTE made the mothers do what they were ordered to do by the terrorists.
