why we dont?

we celebrate and send greetings on every possible occasions. but we never celebrate our independence and republic.it has become more of a government official celebrationns. but individuals dont celebrate or send greetings.why ?

Many people do send greetings for these also.
Only it is far far less than the stupid "Valentine's day" greetings. The Telegraph dept
of India have included "numbered" telegram-phrases in their list. ie. when you send these
telegrams you have to just quote the number, and the fee is minimum.

I don't think sending greetings is the only way of celebration.In my village,Independence day is the biggest celebration every year,we Youth organisation arranged a full day celebration,each and everybody participate in celebration.Infact,Village people have more respect to the nation than educated city people
