Hi,
One of my friend's child is studying in 4th standard (India,CBSE) and she is not scoring well in maths subject. She could not even complete simple addition & subtraction calculations. Can you suggest some methods so that she understands maths well?
Or can you suggest some sites where maths is taught (like the one www.classontheweb.com)
Thanks.

There are classes which concentrates on
ABACUS method of teaching....minimum age for such classes is 6 and goes on up to the 12th age of the child.
This activates the other side of the brain which is normally dormant for most of us, and increases the aptitude, IQ, and analysing, logical and calculating ablities of the child
CHECK IT OUT
IT WOUDL WORK

May be the child is good at something else. Why not find out what the child is good at? If the normal methods of teaching mathematics work for the rest of the students, and if this child is not coping with it, the problem may lie with the parents who do not want to understand that this child's abilities may lie somewhere else.

I once had the opportunity to spend a whole day with a person by name George Wald. During the course of our conversation, I learnt that his child was suffering from Down's syndrome. Well, that is life.
Does it really matter if Prof George Wald, the Nobel Laureate, was the greatest of human minds in the field of Modern Biology? Does it really matter that he was one of those great minds in the field of Neurobiology, whose work stands unparalleled?
No. Intelligence is not inherited. Some of us simply do not measure up. We are the victims of the vagaries of nature. That is a fact of life. Let's learn to accept it.
Don't force the poor child to do something that it can not do.
The grand old man, a great Indophile, a great secular humanist, passed away in 1997. Oh well, that is life.

Well said.
Besides, Math is not the only measure of intelligence.
