Hello.
My name is Jennifer. I am an American who lived and
studied in India. I was not a typical exchange
student as I applied directly to the college in
Chennai, and lived and studied there as the only
American student (or westerner) matriculated in the
college.
I have kept many of my experiences in India on my
homepage and hope you will share my experiences with
me. Here is my website:

Thank you,
Jennifer Polan

Jennifer,
You have a very nice website, and a beautiful family. Welcome to ForumHub.
Though I am not an Indian either, I have a great amount of interest in the country, particularly Tamilnad. Hopefully, in my future career I will work there.
On a side note, I was born in Buffalo, and a friend of mine here on ForumHub lived in Oman for a while.
Hope to hear from you!

Hi Stg,
Jennifer is correct in calling it Diwali. Deepavali is a sanskritised form but both mean the same thing. I grew up in Mumbai and nobody called it deepavali. It would have be considered ostentatious to call it deepavali.

hello jennifer.... call it coincidence.... I had chanced upon your website a long time ago.. and just last week, my roommate showed me your website once again... was a pleasure reading the "why india" stuff and also the links to other "why india"s... as an indian student in america, living with other indiain students, it is interesting to see people who have done the reverse... my friends were wondering about what could have motivated you to do so...

Hello jennifer,
You have a wonderful website. Now you see I would like to give some important information about some indians.
1. If you see a brahmin and a snake kill the brahmin first then the snake.
2.This fellow called nisala is a srilankan spy who is continiously denied visa entry into india, that`why he tries to come over by some boat.If i see him else where in my country I will wring his neck like a pigeon.
3.Be care ful about this devars a robber caste which dwells in almost all places In Tamilnadu.

Mr. DingDong,
What is your problem?
Why so much of venom against brahmins and why paranoia about devars? Aren't good people and bad people in all communities. And to be talking about castes in this age reveals your arachaic attitudes.
As for Mr. Nisala is concerned, he is one of the finest minds I have seen in FH. I keep visiting FH only because of such intellects.

Arvind,
"Jennifer is correct in calling it Diwali. Deepavali is a sanskritised form but both mean the same thing."
Deepavali is a mixture of sanskrit and Dravidian languages. Deepam(light- a dravidian word) + avali(spread - a sanskrit word). The sanskrit word for 'deepam' is 'jyothi'. Diwali is a corrupted word used by North Indians.

Hi shekhar,
If you are a brahmin,You must tell it out straight instead of going round and round and I undestood well that you are the traitor who gives kanchi and clothing to that fellow called Nisala even though when you know that he is a spy

Dear Uncle Ding-a-ling Dong,
"This fellow called nisala is a srilankan spy"
Uncle has revealed my secret identity. What to do. I am the SL version of 007: Chulzhi-Chulzhi-Ezhu (or so I've learned from FH).
I've never went to India by boat but many Indians have come to the N & E even despite the war. Maybe Uncle is not doing a good job trying to help the situation in India but I know he is doing his best.
"From: Killing the brahmin (@ 195.208.237.58)"
Aww don't change your name I liked Ding-a-ling Dong better. Killing the Brahmin is not as fun.

Dear Shekhar,
"As for Mr. Nisala is concerned, he is one of the finest minds I have seen in FH. I keep visiting FH only because of such intellects."
Ha ha!!! That was very funny. I appreciate sarcasm when it is funny, even when it is directed against myself- I can take what I dish out!
Someone should tell fridge that Tamils have a great sense of humor!
But seriously, it's been a long time since I last conversed with you Shekhar. I will try to find an opportunity in another thread.

Nisala,
** Ha ha!!! That was very funny. I appreciate sarcasm when it is funny, even when it is directed against myself- I can take what I dish out! **
My statement was not sarcastic. I really meant what I said. I don't know why you took it in that way.
Mr. Ding dong,
** If you are a brahmin,You must tell it out straight instead of going round and round and I undestood well that you are the traitor who gives kanchi and clothing to that fellow called Nisala even though when you know that he is a spy **
No. I am not a brahmin. And I have a mind to look see people beyond the archaic barriers.
I don't know if Mr.Nisala is a Srilankan spy stationed in States to spy on India! Any way looking at the great 'patriotic' people of India, we dont need any enemies and spies to destroy us.

Mr. Puppy,
Stand in front of a mirror without your clothes. And you will get your revelation! Your will get to see your Ding Dong between your very own legs!
Before you kill your Ding Dong, have mercy on the little Nisala hanging on to your Ding Dong.

My apologies!! I think FH has gotten me too jaded...
These days I'm not saying anything great- I'm just making fun of people who strike me as silly. That is why I thought you were joking.

Dear Uncle Madurai Veeran,
"Stand in front of a mirror without your clothes. And you will get your revelation! Your will get to see your Ding Dong between your very own legs!"
Uncle Veeran is sharing his wisdom of these affairs for all of FH. I wonder if this is the same Uncle Veeran who is gripped by fear when his Dravidian wife brandishes a pen-knife in his general direction.

It is really mind blowing to see people not missing a single opportunity to show their great sense of being Indian even when the time and situation barely obligate for that kind of grand demonstrations. Jennifer would be even more overwhelmed with amazement about India and her people.

I am glad you had wonderful experiences with a younger boy as shown in MMC's friendship thread. And you accuse me of having a dirty job! After reading your posts I would be afraid to get even close to you let alone your toilet.
