In most parts of the world today, we find many inter-racial marriages. At one time, many countries & ethnic groups were clearly against it. But the times have changed & such can be seen quite openly. Share with me on your views about inter-racial marriages? Do you support or are against it? Why do you think inter-racial marriages begun in the first place? Remember, everyone has their right to give an opinion & no one is to be judged wrong or right. Let the thoughts begin...

  Inter-racial marriages can be encouraged since cross-breed produces fine specimen.
  
  World is becoming smaller and it is a healthy development.
  
  However, lots of personal love and lots of adjustmenting temperement are required to make the marriages successful.

  Shakthi, nice to know that you are in the supporters league. Do you actually think its just love that brought these 2 people from world's apart together? I am sure there are other things involved as well besides just love that got them together, wanting a life as partners..

  I feel it is also the curiosity to know the other kind of culture. I have seen some western men are attracted by the conservatism of asians (say indians), the concept of big joint family and the many rituals. Similarly, some rebellious indians are attracted by the western freedom. Though contrasts bring the opposite ends together, ultimately it is the love that can keep the binding. In some cases of pre-matured marriages, it may also break down once they got bored with the fantasies of the other race or after finding the oddities in the culture of their counterpart. This is also true!
  
  Some females, mostly western women are attracted towards african men, who are physically well built and also good at flattering the opposite sex :)

  There is nothing wrong with the inter-racial marriage. As Sheshadri said, it brings out the finer qualities. There are reasons behind this. We have recessive and dominant facts in our DNA. The recessive factors should not become pre-dominant to make a race extinct. When inter racial marriage is done, the counter recessive factors die the other one out and dominant factrs stay dominant.
  But besides, inter-family marriage should be avioded. It brings out the recessive factors in our DNA and make the species extinct. Just think about the white tigers. How many times white tigers have been breed to make white tigers for the sake of the zoo and now they are on the way of their perishment

  althought i am not bothered by interracial marriage....iwud never do it myself...preservation of certain cultural aspects are mandatory and wud be lost with a marriage of this type...if ppl thinkthey can preserve these traditions though, good luck to u

  Yes! what else do u think brings these both together.
  (I would like to include, for convenience sake, subcategories like attraction, desire etc in LOVE ITSELF.)
  
  I do agree with EC, that curiosity bout other culture, also is the reason for the attraction. (The grass is greener on otherside syndrome!)
  
  love for that matter, in india, amidst different castes and languages fall in same category too..
  
  Without love, if such marriages are done for financial reasons, or for convenience sake, it wont last long.

  Your views are appreciated. However, I must stress that finance is also quite important in a relationship. Its not everything but essential. When the marriage is full in with financial stress & too many committments, it can't last long either...
