Do not consider any act of service as demeaning."

We all have that one person we think we could do without ever seeing again. You know the one whose mere appearance drives you to fits of agitation. You see them often enough that they even seem to breathe the wrong way, and you simply cannot find one redeeming quality about them.
If someone in your life fits the profile, I say look again – and take a long, hard look. Consider them, in their totality. The complete picture of a person is often lost on us, as they become the personification of the singular aspect of how we relate to them.
That singular aspect is a mirror, and the reflection sheds light on some part of our character that may not be our best side. Whether we have conquered the defect or not, an open mind and a forgiving nature will guide us to a better relationship with someone who could be our best friend disguised as the bane of our existence.

Your greatest enemy is yourself
2/3 of the problem is psychological
Education is the best inspiraton
A cold heart is a lonely heart
Fear of the unknown is fear of yourself
Understanding comes with experience; experience comes at the cost of innocence
A mans greatest enemy is his conscience
How great a joy of life are lasting friendships
A brilliant mind is an enquiring mind
As every man shall face death, so shall the conscience of every man face eternity

I have read some of these pgrases and seen real sense in them! But how come they are all from this 'baba' character. Although I see truth ina lot of what he says it seems like a bit of a scam to me ( you know a publicity or popularity scam of some sort). Are we being taken for a ride?

To Tom & others who are like Tom:
Just to make you get things straight. I have been a devotee of Siddha Yogi Sri Sri Siva Sankar Baba since Jan. 1997. I have not lost anything believing him. In fact I have only gained and climbed up the ladder ever since I started believing Him. Whenever I seem to land in trouble I only think of Baba and every hurdle seems to vanish setting the coast clear for me. In case you want to be smart and intelligent better have an open mind and not cast aspersions on divine souls. For even to think wrongly about a good soul is sacrilege. This not only applies with baba but also with any great soul in this world who appear to be in the garb of ordinary men. For to think wrong about a soul in the good books of God arouses the wrath of God. Once God's wrath is upon us there is no way out for us as the redemeer(God) himself is angry with us. THIS IS NOT A PROPAGATORY MESSAGE, BUT ONE TO HELP EVERYBODY SEE BETTER.

if you want to have an intermediary to attain divinity, so be it. it is your personal choice. but, do not threaten other's who believe in themselves with this god's wrath stuff. you sound's like a coward who sends chain-postcards to gullible people.
if you have time please read the works of great bharathi.

TWO KINDS OF PEOPLE
There are only two kinds of people on earth today
Two kinds of people, no more I say.
Not the rich and the poor, for to know a man's wealth
You must first know the state of his conscience
and health,
Not the happy and sad, for in life's passing years,
Each has his laughter and each has his tears.
No, the two kinds of people on earth I mean
Are the people who lift and the people who lean.
In which class are you? Are you lifting the load
Of some overtaxed lifter who's going down the road
Or are you a leaner who lets others take
Your portion of toil and labor and care?

Interesting thoughts.. I am a Christian, a believer of Jesus Christ and found these philosophical thinkings quite pleasant and appealing.. Though we are of different schools, thank you for sharing.. May God bring to you the revelation of His Son Jesus Christ..

"EVEN THIS MOMENT WILL PASS AWAY"

One of the quotes I like most.
I expect to pass this way
but once..therefore any good thing
I can do or any kindness
I can show to a fellow human being...
Let me do it now..
Let me not defer nor neglect it
for I shall not pass this way again.

What is heavier than Earth?
A mother, answered Yudhishtira.
What is higher than heaven?
A father.
What is swifter than wind?
The mind.
What is more numerous than grass?
Thoughts.
What does not move after its birth?
An egg.
What is most valuable?
Knowledge.
What is ignored till it departs?
Health.
What makes one richer if thrown away?
Greed.
Which enemy can never be defeated?
Anger.
Which peace is false?
Tyranny.
What is envy?
Grief of the heart.
What is grief?
Ignorance.
Who lives in Hell on earth?
A rich man who neither enjoys himself nor gives his wealth.
What is hypocrisy?
Setting up religious standards for others is hypocrisy.
