Islam is scientific and this is the main reason for an increasing number of westerners coming to its fold. They feel that Islam has solutions to their problems. Of 6666 verses in the Holy Quran, more than 1000 speak on scientific facts. Islam is the fastest growing religion in US and European countries. despite the strident anti-Islam campaign, 34000 Americans have embraced Islam in last 10 months. The people with vested interests accuse Islam of subjugating women. The reply to this is 65% of the new converts in West are women! Islam offers practical solutions to various problems facing the West such as crime, adultery, alcoholism and filial ingratitude.
All Muslims cannot be branded as terrorists. Before our Bharath achieved its independence, all our freedom fighters were called terrorists by the British rulers, while the suppressed people considered the rulers to be terrorists.
It is alleged that Islam was spread in the world on the power of sword. Afghanis (the Muslim grandsons of Gandhari) and Kirgistanis ruled Bharath for centuries, but even their capital Delhi is dominated by Hindu believers! Those who need clarification may contact islam@irf.net

  Try to understand Hinduism in its completeness, then what you see as negative will be put into perspective and the positives of it will become clear. Try to understand the significance of a Cow in HINDUISM. How many drink the milk of animals other than a Cow? A Cow is like your mother in Hinduism and worth of worship even in what is seen as her filthiest state. That is why the cow manure is so important. It is used as a rich fertiliser for the cultivation and growth of any plant. When there is a marriage, in preparation of that marriage, some days before, cow manure, a symbol of richness and a good foundation for development and propagation, is used to prepare the ground, the basis from which that marriage is expected to be propagated and blossomed(this is the old Hindu way of course).
  
  Further, instead of seeing that Hindus worship many Gods and animals (monkeys, snakes etc), try to understand their significance in the midst of Hinduism. For example, the snake around Lord Shiva’s neck shows his power to create and to destroy and his fearlessness of evil forces.
  
  You may only succeed in convincing Hindus on this forum who know little about Hinduism, but should the start researching today, they will survive such ludicrous information in the most remote and abstract form, put before them.

  Sorry, I did not mean snakes are animals. They are reptiles are they? I was thinking of something else when I was writing, but the story about the significance of the snake remains the same. May I add another point of significance, God has the power to control the snake the lion etc.
  
  Coming back to 'Cow manure', in Hinduism three stages of life are recognised and at each stage there is need to lay a rich foundation for development(the first of which starts from your mother who allow for your development and and nurishes you). This also coincide with the use of a 'Bamboo' with three rings/joints at time of marriage and when performing other religious rituals.

  Let me clarify, the first ring on the Bamboo signifies your birth stage, I am not sure if the second or third ring is marriage, but if not second definitely, third. The bamboo as far as I know is used in religious rituals including marriages.
