Iyarkkaikku endraikkaavathu koapamum varum.. appothu nammaal ondrum seyya mudiyaathu...!
by the way "criticism" will never be "good".

Ramadas, I disagree about criticism. Negative criticism from someone unnappreciative of the art, taken as constructive, is extremely damaging. The poet just needs a clever eye restricted to expressing degrees of 'wonderful' and 'not sure'. If Shakespeare had wanted much help from whoever was closest he might never have published a groundbreaking line.

I agree with Jez.
"Criticism" is usually done out of appreciation for liking for a work of art, whether it is poetry, music, dance, visual modern art, movies, etc.
Comments include reponses on form, content, size, shape, colors, texture, medium---called base properties. Then one evaluates the work. Like it, using support of those base properties, information about the work, and one's interpretations of the work--what do you think the artist/poet meant?
I have no idea what language that is... tamil?

I dont understand this!
Why is that in every thread, we split up every word possible, break up its meaning, try to analyse the same with all possible wholistic views, from various angle and
DEFINE EACH AND EVERY WORD in numerous versions??
critism is just critism!
simple!
anu,
iyalbu,
seyarkaiyai unaruvadu mattum Dana?
iyalbu....cannot be confined to the specific ideology u used.
iyalbu has wider scopes.

I think you are right in the use of the word, "criticism", but mostly I was referring to "art criticism" and its mainly postive criticism, its sole purpose. Otherwise, why cast down something and negatively take a bite at it, when you need not say anything? If that clarifies anything... :)

is man not a creation of nature? Then everything he does for the sake of survival & development ought to be natural. Isnt it so?
