Attukal Pongala is a great Religious Festival celebrated at the present Bagawathi Amman Temple in Attukal at Thiruvananthapuram of Kerala annually - for the Tamil Goddess Kannaki (also known as Paththini, and as Mangaladevi) the heroine of the great Tamil Epic Silappathikaram composed by Ilango Adigal of the second century A.D. of former Tamil Chera Country (present Kerala). This this year the 10 day Festival falls from the 12th to the 21st of February 2017 - today being the last day.
