Thandoori chicken recipe:
Ingredients:
Chicken pieces (remove the skin and fat and cut into big pieces) 4lbs
Juice of one lemon
Yoghurt ½ cup
Ginger 1 inch piece with the skin removed
Garlic 8 cloves
Chilly powder 1 teaspoon
Tandoori mix ( you can buy from Indian store) 3 teaspoon
Garam masala ½ teaspoon
Salt to taste
Red food coloring ¼ teaspoon
Melted butter 2 teaspoon
For garnishing:
Onion - sliced as rings and sauteed in oil
Lemon – sliced as rings
Method:
Remove the skin and fat from the chicken and cut as big pieces. Make deep slashes into the chicken pieces so that the masala will permeate deep into the chicken meat. Wash very well, dry the pieces and keep aside. Grind garlic and ginger with lime juice and yoghurt. Add the red food coloring, chilly powder, Tandoori mix, Garam masala, salt and melted butter and mix well. Pour the blended masala into a deep bowl and add chicken pieces to this and mix well so that the chicken is coated all over with the tandoori masala. Cover and refrigerate for 24 hours. Stir the contents occasionally.
Baking:
Preheat the oven to 425 degree F. Place the chicken in an oven proof tray and cover the tray with aluminium foil and bake for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes take the tray out of the oven and turn the chicken pieces and cover with the aluminium foil and bake again for 20 minutes. Now remove the aluminium foil and broil for 3 minutes on each side.
Place the broiled chicken pieces in a serving dish and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving. Decorate it with sautéed onion and lemon rings.

Hello Mini,
Usually I buy Tandoori mix from the Indian store. I'll check the label and post here the ingredients that are mentioned on the package of Tandoori mix.

Simply defined Tandoori Chicken is Chicken cooked in a Tandoor. The King of the kebab's recipe has been pretty much abused by the Vendors. What is important is to retain the flavor and juices of the bird, without masking it with too many spices and chillies. Adding color to Tandoori chicken is now an accepted norm almost everywhere. In reality the marination should be; apply salt, lemon juice and red chilly paste (preferably Kashmiri) to the butchered chicken, leave for 1/2 hour. Make a marinade with yoghurt, cumin powder, garam masala powder, ginger and garlic paste in the proportion of 1:1. Mix well with a whisk and add to the premarinated chicken. Pour over mustard oil. Oil is mandatory for all meat marinations, unless it is minced meat. Oil helps to seal the marinade. Mustard oil in particular gives a unique flavor. If preferred use any other veg or olive oil. Leave it for 6 to 8 hours. Cook on skewers in a Hot Tandoor or Barbecue. Alternately cook in a preheated oven at 425 F. It should be about 20 minutes - for the chicken to be ready. Basting is easier outside an oven. Do not overbaste it. You may also use excess marinde to baste if using an open grill or Tandoor. I could give variations as far as marinades are concerned, if any one needs it - let me know.
