Hi,
Was wondering if anyone has some good suggestions for food to try on a 7 month old. I want to expose my son to Indian food early and start giving food other than jar food. Thanks!

Idlis are a good start for the babies. I use the top layer of rasam (it is not as spicy as the bottom layer of rasam) and mix it with idli and give the baby. Also you can use yoghurt as the side dish for idli. In addition to giving a better taste, the rasam or yoghurt (make sure it is homemade), it reduces the thirsty feeling after eating the idlis.
You can also give ragi kanji to the baby. You can give rice and top layer of rasam mashed well together.

Idlis with Sugar, Raji kanji with Ragi, sprouted Cerals, Almonds, Wheat is a good food, my son loved it a lot.
Rasam saadam is also a good.

very soft khichadi ( rice and moong dal cooked togather ) with ghee is very nutritious. also chicken broth and mashe chicken are good sources of protein
