Can anyone tell me how to cure a blocked nose?
I seem to have a blocked nose everyday. also, i have become very sensitive, any small change in temperature i start sneezing.
i live in north east US.
can anyone help me out,

  Sounds like you have allergies...check with your Dr. People in colder climates tend to have allergies because of living in a very climate controlled environments....we have heated houses in the winter, and A/C in summer. You'd probably need to start taking allergy medicines (like claritin, or allegra) but please consult with your physician.

  To cure blocked nose, you can do good old steaming method. Take a pot of water, bring to boil and switch off the fire. Transfer the hot water to another vessel, add few drops of eucalyptus oil or the green colored tab( i think it's Carvol Plus, the one we get in India) to the water and cover yourself with a thick balnket and inhale the steam. If u don't have any of the above, you can drop a sp of vicks vapourub to the water and do it. It really works and you will get good sleep! But consulting a Dr. is good idea as you have it everyday!   OMAM in Tamil and Ajawain in Hindi is a wonderful natural herbalfood additive seen less and less in South Indian Homes.
  Omam has got fantastic effect on Bronchial congestions ,stomach problems, loss of appetite, nasal congestion, .
  In nasal and Bronchial congestions,Omam is used in two ways.
  In nasal congestions, about ten gramms of Omam is heated on a dry Tawa and made in to a small pottalam in a muslin cloth.This is inhaled for about ten minutes.The nasal congestion disappears.

  The second method is for very severe chest congestions.
  A brick or a black stone is heated for about fifteen minutes on fire.
  When the stone is heated, the patient covers himself in a woolen blanket and pours two spoons of Omam mixed in one tumbler of water on the stone.The resultant steam is to be inhaled for no more than two minutes.
  All the chest congestion starts coming out in form of thick mucous thro the nose and mouth.
  This is extremely effective method.I have used this method many times on self and others.
  Whenever you have vomitting sensetion due to indigestion or over eating, just take two pinches of Omam seeds and chew .
  The problem will disappear within minutes.
  Try this and tell me.

  I will try these out.
  I think I have some allergy because I am fine mostly and suddenly I get a bout of sneezes.
  Also, many times my nose remains blocked for 3-4 hours at a time.

  And, you said that omam is very good for congestion. So, is it good if we take omam water(1/2 sp) every day or whenever we have cold? Will it give the same relief as we inhale ?

  Quick remedy from nasal block is lie down strain pour two drops of gingelly oil (nalla ennai) in the nose especially on the side which is blocked.

  In absence of brick/stone, you can use any solid stone .
  If no stones are available, , try it out on heated Dosai tawa.

  i have been sufferig from the same problem for some time now, i have found a product called "Otrivine", available in all european pharmacies, don't know about US dispenceries, it is a nasal spray, which contains "xylomeazoline hydrochloride", it reduces the amount of mucose produced in the hooter, thus giving a restful nights sleep, the only downside is if you use it regularly, the stuffyness gets worse, 2-4 days use, max.
