The Soya sauce you get in the US has a completely different flavour than the Indian variety. Even the Indian stores here have the American variety (Kikkoman).
Anyone know where I can find the authentic :) desi variety?
TIA.

There are several brands of soy sauce. They also come in different shades - dark and light, depends on which dish you want to use it in. Then there are those with less and more salt. So you have a wide variety to choose from.

I'm aware that there are several types/brands of soy sauce - thats the problem!
I am looking for something similar in taste (salty & dark) to the variety you get in India that is used in cooking Indian-Chinese dishes.
Do you have a brand you can recommend?

Yes Tivo, I have.
Anyway, in case anyone wants Indian soy sauce the brand to look for is Ching's Dark Soy sauce. Since this is made in India, I plan to ask my local Indian grocery to get it.
