Fried Bread
Ingredients : Bread (can be bread trimmings, leftover bread, frozen left-over bread, etc), margarine or butter, sliced onions and sliced green chilly, salt to taste and egg (for a tastier preparation)
Method: Cut sliced bread in small cubes. Set aside.
Heat a little margarine or butter. (you may want to use some vegetable oil too). Fry the onions and chilly until the onion becomes translicent. Add salt. Beat eggs and add into the pan. give it a quick scramble and then add cubed bread.
Add dallops of margarine/butter if you want a richer version.
If you are not fussy about cholestoral, add another beaten egg over the cooking bread and stir gently.
Toss frequently and serve hot.
(Fast to make and good to eat!)
For strict vegetarians, you may want to add kadugu (mustard seeds) in the oil/butter before tossing in the onions. You can then omit the eggs.
