What proportion should I use for making idlies with Jasmin rice ? If I use usual ratio that is 4:1 (rice:urad dal) will that be right ? Thanks

Maya,
Jasmine rice is not the best choice for idlies. For best results, use idli rice or parboiled rice (puzhungalarisi) from Indian stores. IF you are using a blender like Meenumix, the proportion is three cups rice to one cup urad dhal. If you are using Ultra grinder (it is on sale for deepavali at www.innoconcepts.com) then it is 5 cups rice to one cup urad.
