help!!!how to make thiruvaathirai kali

today being thiruvaathirai i want a recipe for it.

THIRUVATHIRAI KALI

Rice 1 cup
Jaggery 1 3/4 cup (one&threefourth)
Moong dal 1 tblsp
Coconut grated 2 tblsp
Water 2 1/2 cup
Cardamom,cashew&ghee 2 tblsp
Method
------
1.Roast cashew in ghee& keep it aside.Add rice,moong and roast it well.
2.Powder it in a mixer& pour boiling water&keep it aside for 1/2 hour.
3.Add jaggery,coconut& cook it in a pressure pan
close the lid to cook on medium flame.
4.When steams comes out,place the weight& switch it off after 2-3 minutes.
5.Remove the lid when cool& serve it garnished with cashew.
6. kootu/thalagam must be served with it.

kootu/thaalagam recipe:
Required Main Vegetables: Potato, cheenai(yam),Cheppangkizhangu(colacassia roots) avarakkai, white pumpkin. Optional:carrot and any other vegetable.
Method:
1. Take each vegetable 1 cup.
2. Fry two spoons of Tuar daal, one spoon of sesame seeds, half coconut, red chilli and a spoon of rice(to make the gravy thicker) - alter any ingredients like coconut and chilli according to your taste.
3. grind it in the mixer and keep aside.
4. Cook all the vegetables with required saltin the pressure cooker and change it to a vessel and put it on the stove.
5. add the ground ingredients and let it boil for 5 minutes.
6. Finally add some jaggery to it and mix it well.
In this thaalagam sesame seed gives special taste and flavour.
