Does anyone know if this leaf is safe to eat? I've always used it for cooking, but we don't eat it...
Is it safe to digest?

Hi friend, curry patha is very good for health. It is rich in iron. in south side we make chutney and curry patha powder also and eat with rice and idly, dosa etc. it can also be consumed when used for seasoning.

Hi All,
Curry leaves are very good as mentioned above for digestion and as a good appetizer.
My grand-mum makes 'Veppila Katti' (a type of chutney) with Curry and Nimbu Leaves , Hing, Green Chilles and Salt by grinding all together adding very little water and goes very well with rice and curd.

Curty leaves is one of the most healthiest food herb that i know. Its very good for bones. I have healed atleast a dozen of people with curry leaves for bobe problems. It sad that we throw the leaves after flavoring the food without knowing its medicianl value. Making a chutney without saorting is the best.

I prepare a healthy recipe. Fry briefly the urid dal in very little oil and then put in a blender or mixi with salt and green chilli and water and grind well. pour in in a serving bowl and then add wheat germ oil or flax seed oil like one or two spoons. Wheat germ is the richest source of vitamin E and flax seed for omega fatty acids and then curry leaves provide iron and calcium and other nurtients too. If you want you can add a peice of organic orange peel which provide many important flavoinids that prevent many different cancers. In India we use lemon leaves also which also some of the benefits that orange peel gives.

Hi mini,
I doubt abt getting dry tamrind in the stores.
what i usually do is ,take tamrind & put in the microwave for 1min.then directly grind it in grinder along with the other ingredients.it remains for a long time.
& once again for dry powder don't use jaggery, becoz it absorbs moisture,u can use sugar as an alternative.

Hello Wadhwa,
Where are you in bay area?
Almost every Indian Grocer stocks curry patha in Bay area.
