hi can anyone tell me how to make mor kulambu.some people make this with lots of vegs.help plz.

Hi someone,
Ingredients
Thuvar dal 2 tsp
Rice 1 tsp
Urad dhall 1 tsp
Methi 1/2 tsp
Red chilles 3
Green chilles 2
Coconut 4 tsp
Coconut oil 1 tsp
Butter milk 4 to 5 cups
Turmeric 1/4 tsp
Mustard 1/4 tsp
Salt - to taste
Curry leaves a few
Vegetables - White pumpkin 1-2 inches chopped length wise, or
Okra washed
Method
Soak thuvar dal and rice in little water.
Fry urad dal, methi, red chilles and green chilles in coconut
oil. Grind this mixture with the soaked dal, coconut and little
salt in butter milk.
Heat some coconut oil, splutter mustard, then add curry leaves,
little hing, salt, turmeric and the vegetables and fry this for a
few minutes. Add the ground paste and the remaining butter milk,
to the above and bring this to a boil. Boil this just for a few
minutes.

Hi someone,
if it is made with lots of vegetables ,than that is avial.morkuzhambu will be good with sour curd where as avial will be good with fresh curd.white pumpkin,ladies finger,raw plantain is a good combination.paruppu vada also can be put in morkuzhambu.

Hi vijay,
You can make Lemon rasam without any podi.
This recipie has been contributed by veena bhavanam.
Hope you like it. Here it goes.
Here is recipe for lime rasam
1.Tuvar dal (boiled with 1cup of water)- 1/2 cup
2.Fresh lime-1 no.(medium size)
3.Water-1 cup
4.Turmeric-1/2 tsp
5.Coriander seeds-1tsp (ligthly toasted)
6.Jeera seeds-1tsp (lightly toasted)
7.Black pepper-1/2tsp (ligthly toasted)
8.Garlic cloves-2-3nos (slightly mashed)
9.Green chillies-2-3nos(slit)
10.Curry leaves-8-9leaves noswith stem
11.Coriander stems-3-4 nos
12.Oil-2tsp
13.Mustard seeds-1 tsp
14.Asafoetida-a pinch
15.Salt-as per taste
Method:
Take a saucepan add boiled tuvar dal with water, 1 cup water, turmeric powder.
Make a powder of all toasted seeds (jeera, coriander, pepper)add half of powder to the tuvar dal mixture, add garlic, coriander stems & curry leaves to it.
Let this mixture boil on medium flame ,it should not be over boiled. Once it it boiled remove it, now add the remaining powder, juice of lime & salt toit and stir well
Heat oil in a pan to it add mustard seeds, green chillies & asafoetida to it add this tadka or tampering to the lime rasam. Check the salt.
Decorate with coriander leaves.

Hi anbu,
Glad to see the tamil words writtern in tamil text.You can make morkuzhambu with buttermilk,you will not get the same taste but if you make with sour creme you will get good taste.It also depend upon the brand of the buttermilk.
