Thanks . I tried tofu Kothumalli chutney and it was kind of different not exactly like coconut chutney. It has a unique texture. I liked it very much, though the same cannot be said for my husband. Hence tofu has been temporarily banned from my house.

i think tofu is just the paneer made out of soya milk, hence it can be made like u make all the paneer dishes. but keep in mind that there r two types of tofu, one abit hard which can be used like to make any fries or gravies and the other is the soft n silky one, which i guess is used by the chinese to be added into their soups. try tandoori tofu it tastes good for first timers. u need to develop a taste for tofu.

I am to introduce soy milk and tofu into my diet.
I know very little about tofu and nothing on cooking it. Is tofu used as a substitute for other foods or in combination with foods????
Thanks for any suggestions you may have for me.

Cut a piece of firm Tofu place it in between sheets of napkins and place something heavy on it, in order to drain the excess water from it.
Once drained, place it in a skillet, with "Butter flavored Pam" on medium heat until both sides are brown.
Cut the tofu into small pieces (put aside for later)
Place the follwing in a fry pan to sautee:
Olive oil
A thinly sliced purple onion
thinly sliced peppers
sliced garlic
Chopped Cilantro
Sautee until lightly browned
Once browned, pour a can of whole tomatoes, into the saucepan and the tofu as well.
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Oregano(if desired)
Let it simmer, for 15 minutes on medium flame.
Pour over, Angel hair Pasta, Enjoy!!!

simply cut the tofu into little pieces as u like and put into a small basin. Put some chilli powder into it. Add some salt and then deep fry it, that goes well with rice and sambar.

not quite..it's pretty tasteless, even 'yucky'. u can blend soft tofu in a blender with fruit and some milk (or soymilk) to make an awesome smoothie. use firm tofu to substitute for meat in various dishes. drain it and place between paper towels and press with something heavy (food cans work great) for 2-8 hours. the more u press, the more flavor it absorbs. marinate it for maximum flavor.

I like to marinate tofu. I mix soy sauce, onion salt, crushed garlic and a bit of water. I pour it in a small baggy. In the meantime I cut firm tofu into small blocks. After the tofu is cut I place it in the baggy with the marinate for a few hours or overnight. After marinating I take the tofu out and broil it on both sides till they are hard. It is very delicious - crispy outside and soft inside. i like to eat it with veggies or stir fry.
