Hi
Here is the recipe for vaazhai poo vadai:
Vaazhai poo 1
1 cup tuvar dhaal
2 -3 tbsp chana dhaal( kadalai paruppu)
soak the dhaal and grind it.
mince the cleaned vaazhai poo and add it to the dhaal paste, add finely chopped onion, chilli pd salt turmeric pd curry leaves and mix well.
Make small vadai and deep fry.
Sambhar onions gives more taste. try not to add water to the dhal while grinding, and if you want you can coarsely grind the vaazhai poo and squeeze it to remove the juice from vaazhai poo. make small flat patties so it gets cooked well.
Let me know after you try it.Good luck
Kz

In NJ, it is available in farmer's market(chinese market), atleast in 6 months once in a year, dont know when it is exactly.
It is not even bitter, very good quality.
