Dear friends .Is there anyway to increase breast milk.Also my baby is feeding only one breast each time.Takes the other breast next time.I don't know if she is getting enough.She is smaller than other kids of her age (5 months).Any advise is highly appreciated

  1.Eat a spoon of fenugreek seeds in empty stomach in morning ( u have to soak it overnight)
  2.U can take dil greens with lot of garlic (just do like other poriyals)
  3. Take mint chutney .
  i was also told that urad dal increases milk flow , but at the same time creates gas .. I,m not sure abt it .

  Yes, what Preeti says is the best home remedy which surely increases breast milk in mothers.
  I mean Fenugreek seeds therapy.
  Urad dhall increase lot of gas in the stomach of child hence avoid it.
  But Urad taken in form of Idly/Dosai is easy to digest.

  My Sis' was advised to soak urad dal and cook it in milk and add sugar cardamom..and take it as kheer. She said it worked well for her...also there is a lehyam available in all ayurveda medicine shops..(pookkula lehyam or sthanyajanana rasayanam..better confirm with a practitioner)

  Even, sometimes, garlic will produce gas and cause stomach pain for the baby. I saw this with my SIL.
  
  Take lots of fruits like how u were taking during preg., and lots of vegetables. Can even incl. oats with your food. Drink plenty of milk which is the best one for milk secretion. Also, adding lots of ghee to your food will help(dont bother abt weight).
  
  My friend use to suggest that taking fried manathakkali in little amt of ghee and powder coarsely with your hand and take with little sadham and more ghee for 2 morsels.
  
  In the similar way, fry small onion in ghee and follow the above method. These two methods will help you in milk secretion for atleast some time.
  
  Suraikai vegetable is also good. All keerai most importantly, fenugreek leaves is good.

  Adding drumstick leaves to your diet increases the milk production. It is very high in iron content also. And eat lots of garlic.
