hey everybody....
on saturday there was a programme here in vienna called 'chaplins in europe', with dileep, mani, kavya and so on....
the programme wasn't that good...mani's manikilukam was much better.
but anyway, today they were invited to a family i know very well, and i was invited too.
wow, what a nice feeling to feel the presence of these stars... i talked to dileep and kavya. she is such a nice girl, down to earth, her parents were there too. she had this dress...ehh..how u call it? this namboothiri-kutti style dress...very sweet...but her voice is kind of strange...masculine..a lot of bass, and she likes to sing and does this very well i must say...she has good controll over her voice. she is doing her +2 now, and shooting 'meeshamadhavan' with dileep.
well, then dileep, he was just like i thought he would be, serious at times, but then his typical comedy at times, but he wasn't the real entertainer; manju was calling the whole time from home on his cellphone, unfortunately couldn't talk to her...he asked me what i was doing and such formal questions...nothing special...then later he played basketball together with mani and others from their troupe, i mean not really a match, but just throwing the ball, he isn't good at it at all..hehe...
then mani, he wasn't at his usual best today, no idea why, perhaps he wasn't drunk enough, or perhaps he had too much respect for lohitadas, who was there too. he didn't do much comedy, instead he was shooting everything with a digicam. then he went to the kitchen and suddenly all the women there started laughing like hell...hehe...after that he too went to play basketball...
and yes, lohitadas...i first went to him, first, formal questions, then i asked him about the movie 'chakram' with mohanlal and dileep and he said that it had stopped. he was like some greek philosopher, with long beard and hair, and didn't talk much either. the people there then told him that i would be a kochu kalakaran, cause i sing on stage occasionally, but i didn't like it much. he then asked me if i could sing, and i said: no! hehe, yeah...but then, there was this guy called yousef, from mimicry section, a very funny guy, he was then the entertainer that day. we did a naruku-eduppu on who to sing. actually the naruku-eduppu decided only who sang first, second and so on, cause everyone had to sing. after that this yousef came to the table where i and another girl who could sing rather well, and started singing old songs, and we all sang, with 'tabla-ing' on the table...it was real fun...
as we sang 'ponnil kulicha' from 'sallapam' they made fun of dileep calling him 'junior yesudas' and asking him to sing (as u surely know he was called like that in that film...)
so many anecdotes....
the only guy who was really, really arrogant was naadhirsha, very unsympathic guy, i guess if u know him well, he's surely very funny and all that, but otherwise u can't even talk one word to him.
all in all it was a very pleasant experience sitting together with these 'stars' and eating and singing and having fun with them...
