And what about all those impressive tragic numbers from the 80s? such as:
Meri qismat me-n tu naheen.... (1981)
Teri Meharbaaniyaan...... (1984)
Ameeron kee shaam ghareebon ke naam... (1986)

I'm a total fan of old hindi songs from the 50's to the 80's. That was called music! We had all unbelieveable great music directors including Kalyanji Anandji, Laxmikant Pyarelal, Shankar Jaikishen, Naushad, S.D. Burman and so many more! Ever since this untalented R.D. Burman came along...Indian music was ruined. The only songs of RD Burman I liked were the ones in Padosan, Pyar Ki Kahani, and "Na Koi Umang Hai" from Kati Patang.
Anyone else crazy about old music e-mail me! Oh and there's a large selection in http://www.musicindiaonline.com

Gowri,
For keeping the record straight I must give the name of the composers of the tragical thunderstorms mentioned above.
Meri qismat...... Suresh Wadekar-Lata- (Lakhmikant-pyarelal)
Teri meharbaaniyan.... Shabeer Kumaar- (Lakhmikant-Pyare lal)Ameeron kee shaam......... M. Azeez- (L-P)
May be 99 out of my list of 100 best hindi songs were compiled by the sensitively tragic genius composers, L-P.

Gowri,
I believe you are not among them who have real good understanidng of music..or you would not have pass a casual and airy comment like "Ever since this untalented R.D. Burman came along...Indian music was ruined"
It seems very childish comment....can I ask you why u feel so..and what all have u heard of the creations from RD ?
Cheers
Shyam
