I think 99% of his movies are imitated. He is making movies in hindi using the stories of malayalam/tamil hit movies and making malayalam movies using the stories of some other languages. I accepts that he is technically a good director. But why he is not trying to find out genuine stories like other directors do. Please give your opinions.
I can give few examples
Hindi

1. Mushkurahat = Kilukkam
2. Viraasat = Thevar magan
3. Herapheri = Ramjirao speaking
4. Doli sajakerakhna= Aniyathipravu
5. New movie = Maannar mathai speaking

Malayalam

1. Boying Boying = Same in Engilsh
2. Mukundetta... = some hindi movie

  Priyan gave a complaint in MACTA against the ban imposed on him by the distributors association.
  
  MACTA meeting was called and discussed the same and finally they came to the conclusion that whatever happened regarding the issue was because of Priyan's mistake.

  A director , for creating a cinema can take stories from books, stories written by others etc. then why not from other cinema? I am not getting a reason why a director can't take story from other cinema.No one in this world can copy a cinema , that's why it is called an art form.
  if one can do that then there will be many shakespeares in the world not just one . and about the creativity of Priyadarsan as a director he is below average. i think he has chosen a wrong career , i feel he can compete with the professional cinematographers. but as a director he is below average , direction is not just picturizing the scenes beautifully. it is much much more that, that one should get by birth , skill. by hard work one cannot become a good singer, director , painter etc that should be there in the blood. i doubt whether priyadarshan is having a definite craft in direction. 80 s he used to say the story using a special kind of comedy i am not getting the exact name of it during 90 s there was a comedy revolution in malayalam cinema. and after that priyan 's cinema's lost the target as many directors opt for saying the story using powerful comedy (language) and there comes the end of the director Priyadarshan.

  Jibzz... even I read the article which claimed that Spielberg's DiCaprio flick "Catch me if u can" is a take-off on "Kalikkalam". Barring the fact that both of them have robber-cop themes, there is ABSOLUTELY no similarity between the two. I wonder what made Vellinakshatram say something as inane as that, since Spielberg's movie is a reel adaptation of the life of the fake-turned-hero Frank Abagnale. Its stupid to say that Spielberg got the idea from "Kalikkalam" - I wish these magazines would check their facts b4 professing ridiculous absurdities as these!

  Don't make such ridiculous remarks.
  And calling Priyadharsan as a creative dir. is absolutely ridiculous.None of his films makes an impact.His 'kalapani' was ok.But his recent 'laysa laysa' is a collection of garbage,a stupid story line,and a silly screenplay makes the film a non-sense.On the whole ,the youthful cast,Catchy music,with Sabu's art and thiru's camera makes the film tolerable to some extent.That's all.
