Does malayalam has good love stories that can really attract people and involve them.This subject is really an outdated one but if told properly it can still attract crowd.We are not making sensible love stories compared to tamil movies from mani,Bharathiraaja,Balu mahendra and so on..

well let me select some of the good love stories in our industry..

These are my choices..

Chemmeen(1966) - This is a classic novel and a tragic love story.It had a great camera work and super good songs.

Madanolsavam(1977)- nothing more kamalhaassan's early movie with super music by Salil Chaudhary

  good movies of My favourite Manju Varier films.

  i belive love as an emotion truly meets its essence when it is able to bring about a change in a person.one of the best love stories i have seen is "as good as it gets".nicholson's character is a victim of a compulsive disorder and how he tries to rectify himself,how he tries to induce a sense of sweetness in himself for the sake of the woman he loves(played by helen hunt).brilliant protrayal of how love is more of a constructive element in a persons life rather than a mere on-the-surface infatuation.love for me shud be truly a war of sorts not with the world but an infighting that a person experiences for the sake of the sanctity of this beautiful feeling.and our movies should be able to depict that and not a mere geometrical representation of some people in love.also the tides of love should creep up not just in strength but also in vulnerability.in "namukku parkkan munthiri thoppukal" wot attracts lal towards shari initially is her workaholic attitude which represents the strength of her character.as he gets closer to her he realises she is avictim of her step-father's atrocities.that part of her life represents her vulnerability.lal loves shari thru her strngth and vulnerability.that is the beauty of their love.thats how love should be protrayed.i know all this sounds too philosophical,but i guess u cant disassociate philosophy from any aspect of your life.
