they r the best directors in kerala now. the fact astonishing is that lal jose was the disciple of kamal. kamal has done movies of all types and established himself as the most creative director better that fazil and priyadarsan. kamal does simple movies and his characters are not babas and narasimhams. same case with lal jose. he does movies with a different approach, kamal's new movie is nammal with a newcomer in the lead role. while lal jose will cast mammootty in his new movie pattalam. he also told abt the song penne penne in his meesha madhavan which is of the same type in the tamil movie alaipayuthey. the situation was same and vidyasagar just adopted the beginning style of the tamil song yaaro and then he was magnificient by lowering and increasing the tempo making it more beautiful and entirely different from yaaro. also the raagas were different so not even a single tune was similar, he explained.

  lal jose is way way way better than kamal to me. even though lal jose doesnt have as much experience, he has proved that he can do comedy, action and romance. i think lal jose should be compared to a better director than kamal, like sibi malayil. like sibi malayil, lal jose excels in everything. they both have the best music sense, they have the humour, and etc. lal jose is a better in picturization though..

  neither sibi malayil or lal jose isn't a better director than kamal. sibi malayil is a better director than lal jose but kamal is the best in malayalam and its going to take lal jose some years to catch up to him. if you look at kamal's kakkothikavile apoopan thadikal it was done wonderfully, he had no stars and because of the story and the direction it was a hit and about picturization both are about the same, if you look at madhuranombarakattu, azhakiya ravanan, ayal kadha ezhuthukayyannu the songs and the scences were done very well and colorfully. the only way that lal jose will be as good as kamal is if in the future he makes serious stories like mazhayethum munpe, madhuranombarrakattu, gramaphone etc...

  true true narayanan..kamal is one of the best director in malayalam ...without big stars and big budget he can create hits...but just one difference is lal jose does better job in picturizing the songs..kamal does great job too..but lal jose is much better ....

  I am the same opinion of mr. Narayanan. Kamal is the brillint director. Sibiyum lal Josum priyadarshan um kazhivil kamalinte aduthonnum ethilla ennurappanu. Ithil kurachu koodi bhedham lal jose anennu mathram.

The movies which people consider as classic siby malayil movies are all scripted by lohithadas only watch out...Kireedom,Bharatham,Thaniyaavarthanam,His Highness..,Dhanam,Ezhuthaapurangal,Chenkol etc only other sibi malayil movie which turned out to be excellant was Aakaashadoothu...but look at Kamal he directed scripts of sreenivasan, shathrugnan,Cherian kalpakavaady,T.A.Razack(early days) and even with a new script writer in meghamalhar..he has turned out those movies to be good and box office hits.. onnum venda Meghamalhar pole oru slow movie ithra manoharam aayi direct cheyyan Kamalinu maathrame kazhiyuu..

  Well I have read all your opinions. I my view kamal is the best director in malayalam presently.
  If he took a pure commercial film like Niram, the next he took was a rather unconventional Madhuranombarakaattu, and then a 35mm movie Meghamalhar. Which director will give a megastar like Mammooty two poles apart character in consecutive films Mazhayethum munpe & Azhakiya Ravanan. The music of Kamal movies are all classics. His songs like Enthinu veroru sooryodayam, vennila chandana kinnam etc are one of the best in malayalam cinema.The songs in his earlier movies like Unnikale oru katah parayaam and Kokothe kavile.. are pure delights for music collecter's. He sees to it that his consecutive movies are not at all alike.He is experimented with wider range of themes. A muslim story like Gazal, and a politial film like Bhoomigeetham were from his ventures. His movie Niram became one of the biggext grossers in Malayalam cinema purely due to its honest approach to the subject and song picturisations. Lal jose is good . His meesamadhavan is one of the best filma in recent times. But his film had this huge run because there was no good releases that time. Reports are that Kamal's Nammal is very good. There is high expectation from his next Gramaphone. All wishes to Kamal.

  Now, think about copy cat Priyadarsan.
  Not even a single hit without MohanLal.

  the reason kamal has made a niche for himself in the educated film industry of kerala is because of his honest and straightforward approach to scripts.he knows the trends of the young and the old.most of the directors go for tried out stuff.they somehow want to make money.at the same time kamal made movies having such varied subjects like those in meghamalhaar, madhuranombarakattu, mazhayethum munpe.at a time when mohanlal faced his worst it was kamal who brought out his best in unnikale oru katha pareyaam,ulladakam,vishnulokam and ayaalkatha yezhuthukeyaanu.among the present guys kamal is best.
