MohanLal's acting in this movie was brilliant.
He really deserved the National Award for this.

Did he get the state award for this movie ? it was released in 1985. I think this role did not get the recognition it deserved, since he was not a super star then.

Anybody knows the name of the actress who played the role of Vinit's mother in this movie ?

  Check out the new issue of India Today. In the article – all eyes on Lal – by M.G. Radhakrishnan, the great Adoor Gopalakrishnan talks about Lal. He says, “Perhaps Lal is the most outstanding actor in Malayalam history. His range is phenomenal but compulsions of stardom make him do silly roles. His potential has never been used best.”
  
  Yes, Adoorji is right. No director has fully exploited his talents as of yet. Adoor himself might be the person to offer him a dream role, ala Kodiyettam (Gopi), Elipattayam (Karamana) and Nizhalkoothu (Oduvil).

  hey i got a copy of the india today with the lal article...while it has no new info to offer, its great to see the attention he's getting, and above all, it is amazing to finally realize what adoor thinks of lal....i sincerely hope that he doesn't just talk a big game and actually makes an effort to give mohanlal a role of substance in his next picture.
