Should malayalam movies focus on next generation??

What I strongly feel is a change in malayalam film industry like it had during the 80's (shift from prem nazir movies) then only mammootty & mohanlal emerged with variety of roles..Now dont you feel that they should be selective and allow the young generation to come up like in tamil where Ajith, Vijay and Maddy(madhavan) are really big stars..Well I certainly feel that and the 2 actors which media are projecting are not good enough(Dileep &chackochan)..they are just imitating ..there is no big difference or they are not bringing any new trend..though chackochan is handsome acting is not good..Dileep acts a bit but no variety looks are not good short and just following the acting style of seniors..I think the script writers and directors of mal cinema should think about this and refine our film industry with lot of handsome talented new comers what do u think?

well i believe that if there was a shift in the quality of malayalam movies made during 80's then there were primarily 2 reasons for that:
1)there was a strong undercurrent of wot we call in common terms as parallel cinema.i think parallel cinema is very important in the sense that it honestly keeps the the commercial film directors on their feet.it was the strong parallel cinema movement of adoor and aravindan that instigated film-makers like padmarajan and bharathan to start the trendwe today know as "madhyanthara cinema".today i believe there is a total annhilation of parallel cinema.so the correct emphasis on technique and narrative structure is almost lost.
2)secondly 80's showed the emergence of probably the best cluster of talented people coming together and making films.sibi,lohi,sreeni,reghunath paleri,sathyan anthikad,hariharan etc.who emphasised on the need of associating a sense of truth in the characters on whom they based their films upon.and it was just the vision of these people that lal and mammootty benefited from.ofcourse they r 1 of the best talents in the country.but u can never disassociate the roles of these fantastic technicians in shaping their careers.
with the dawn of 90's a strange theme of "howmany days a movie ran came into effect.like chitram ran for 1 yr.godfather ran for 400 days.kilukkam ran for 200.manichitrathazhu for 200.suddenly the focus shifted from quality of cinema to the no.of days it ran in a theatre.the directors thaT hence followed tried too hard not to match the film made by their predecessors in terms of qualitybut on the basis of how many days their films ran in theatres.and that led to the situation we today see our cinema in.so lets not pleace talk of replacing or maintaining our acting talents but lets hope that these talents get properly recognised and utilised for the betterment of the institution of mallu cinema as a whole which i belived once produced the best films in the whole of india(85-94)

i suppose u didnt read my post carefully.i guess i had made the demarcation between "madhyantara" and "parallel cinema" quite clear.the point i was trying to say is "madhyantara cinema" did make use of cinema asthetics of parallel cinema and coupled it with a novel narrative pattern without giving away the authenticity of content or character.that aided the creation of good cinema
