Malayalam had a lot of children films in the past and not now, of course.
My dear kuttichatthan, Manu Uncle were some real movies that were enjoyed by kids.
Currently no language is bringing out films for kids in India
Anyone knows the reason.?

The producers, or directors are not gettin any apreciation from the kerala gov. Madhu used to produce good childern movies. I read a news in velli nakstharam, which, one malayalam children movie got a national award for the best childern movie, but the keral gov. didn't even consider that film, when they started givin out state awards.

Well, in my opinion the reason is neither marketability factor nor neglect of children. Technology in the form of cable tv could be the reason behind this. Fact is, cable channels like Cartoon network, and animation pictures have taken the role which childrens' films had earlier. And again, this is just an indicator of the extent to which television has succeeded in replacing cinema as the popular medium.
