fellowsurfers,
don't u also think malayalam cinema is becoming unflexible nowadays...what i mean is, we don't have enough different genres in malayalam, like in english, which surely wouldn't be bad. i don't mean that we should copy from hollywood or something like that...but i think there is nothing wrong in it to adapt some good ideas from abroad...not copy...just get inspirations from there...
see...in malayalam we have 1) comedy 2) action 3) comedy com tragedy, and now thank god also 4) horror. but what about the so called different genres? like pure gangster movies, roadmovie, city movies, experimental movies (like 'memento'...u know this one? in this movie the story is being told backwards...that means u see the end at the beginning, and then scene by scene the story is unfold to the spectator), or pulp fiction type of movies...for the youth specially...
i mean aren't these same style movies in malayalam getting really boring? jayaram making those same-type films always, then mohanlal with his large than life characters, dileep is a fresh wind, but he is actually only the next jayaram, and kunjacko boban is running around in silly college films. (i mean, okay, the youth surely needs these college movies...but that should be only a part of the whole thing). in my opinion mammooty is the only actor trying to do different films....like this 'ambedkar' and 'dani' now...many should follow him...
u know i dream about a day when kunjacko boban and vineeth run around in black suits, with a beretta in their pocket and talk about malayalam cinema getting boring, while going to kill gangster boss thilakan....yeah, that would be a damn cool movie...
new actors should also be introduced to malayalam cinema...actors for such different genres...

so, what's ur opinion about this?
