I am very eager to hear ur comments on the decision of IPRS to pay Royalty fees for the songs sung by Yesudas. His son Vinod Yesudas has come up with the argument that royalty fees should be paid by the artistes (even ganamela artistes - who do it for a living) for the song originally sung by Yesudas. Yesudas's Tharangini Audios has recently applied for a membership in IPRS (which means they will also benefit from the new rule).
I think its a big blow to all the new singers and also to music lovers.
Madhu Balakrishnan avoided "Innale ente.." song from Balettan during Asianet film Awards 2004 ( u know y?)
Unni Menon also reacted heavily..He was actually planning to conduct a show with new comers with an intention to bring up the old songs again.
what do u say abt this?
