MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT EVERYONE SHOULD REMEMBER IS THAT "EVERY DOG HAS A DAY" Lets look back in the history of mal films. At a time when Prem Nazir ruled the industry even though young actors like Ratheesh, sukamaran, raviender, shankar, etc,..came it was Mammooty who made the difference and was outstanding, went on to be a superstar!!! Then later when Mammooty ruled , Mohanlal came and made the difference and ruled the industry jointly with Mammooty. Then came Suresh Gopi.....but his stardom was created by the press and eventhough he was known as a superstar, somehow he was not seen in the same standard as Mammooka and Lal. Now people claim Dileep is the new superstar.........but I don't know how far this is true????? I can't imagine Dillep in an action role nor as a serious actor in the classes of Mammoty and MOhan lal!!

I agree with your views.
When people does the same kind of roles, they will be able to give successes only for a short time period. That is what happened to Suresh Gopi.
During 1993-1995, his movies used to get a high initial collection, just like the big M's. But, people got bored with the monotonous roles he played movie after movie.
If you look at Dileep movies, you can see that he is also doing more or less similar roles. Unless he change track and give some hits (especially some action roles), his stardom will also be temperory, I think. But, I feel that, at the moment he can be considered as a big star because he is the only actor with minimum guarantee.

How can a man change his track without proper knowledge of acting, without extraordinary talent or without a good physique… just go on a single track of comedy, or go with a character who has a very low profile, that’s it. Please watch what will happen to the forthcoming attractions. We should get rid off the mimic cinemas, k. mani song cinemas & Makkal cinemas very fast, otherwise it will be a huge disaster to the industry like never before.

Yeah...I can't say right now whether Dileep will be able to change track successfully. Even I can't imagine him in a powerful role like Devasuram, Avanazhi, Ekalavyan etc.. Athokke kathirunnu kannukaye vazhiyullu.
But, I want to mention one point here - why should we hate an actor? He may not be as good as Lal- but he is giving some hits which helps the movie industry as a whole.
Why should we hate any actor at all? Kalabhavan Mani and sons of yesteryear stars will not survive if they are not performing well.
After all, we cannot have a movie with only Lal acting in it. There should be actors to play other roles as well. People like these will fit in some particular roles.
Then, regarding your comment about the disaster to the movie industry:
If a kalabhavan mani movie flops, then the loss may be less than 25 lakhs. But, what about Praja / Onnaman / Dubai ? The producers would have lost at least 2 crores each.
So, what/who is the real disaster ?
So, pleeeease...do not hate any actors. If you hate Kalabhavan Mani - you must understand some facts. He is the highest paid Malayalam actor in Tamil right now. He has got more fans than mammootty/mohanlal in Tamilandu.

The real reasons behind the flops are due to the literal bankruptcy of our current movies. If anyone has the talent to perform a character well and outstandingly, no one would hate him. Just becoz of luck few of our guys’ came to main stream of our industry. What is the output, giving us some comic movies, did u see any “character” in any of these movies? Some fools are trying to project some other newcomers without considering their talent, skill or even their personality.

It is explicit that fortune is essential to be a superstar. At the same time he must be gifted with talent as well. I think peoples are ready to afford some physical limitations of such talented actors. Mammooty’s stiffed physic or Mohan Lal’s dirty figure are example for that. But in case of Dilip I can’t say he belong affordable limitations only. I agree he has talent and he improved very well from his beginning stage even though I can’t say he has the quality to be a super star. I consider one as a super star whenever he does some leading role, which can’t be done by an ordinary actor. That is why I never considered Mukesh as super star, I never considered Jayaram as super star even after some newspapers illustrate him as super star and in my opinion Dilip is only succession to them.

Hi guys, the superstars in Mal. films are ONLY those guys who dared to take up guns and did some macho roles.. Mammootty is called superstar after Avanazhi,Inspector Belram etc., Mohanlal with the single film Rajavinte Makan and Suresh Gopi with his Ekalavyan.. this is the basis to get oneself 'established' as the superstar.. and then these actors go on to do exceptional roles.. Jayaram is a much better actor than Suresh Gopi, but ppl won't call him superstar as there is nothing 'super' abt him.. I really doubt whether Dileep with his ugly grin, strange dance movements etc. would look good in macho roles, not to mention his northern accent which hinders him to speak proper mal.(no offence pls, but he's improving)..Dileep is popular now because he's the best alternative now, not because he's anyhow good.
