Hi Kiran
Not tht fast. Even though some wot fast numbers. All songs are excellent. Total 6 songs including an instrumental one. All of them are excellent.Worth buying one. A typical Rehman number after Dilse, alaipayuthe and all.

1) Hey Good Bye Nanba
Sunitha Sarathy , Shankar Mahadevan , Lucky Ali
Starts off with the female singer and would seem it would be a techno/trance type of number. Then male voice comes in with "Nee yaaaaro Naan Yaaro?" I love that piece that keeps being sung throught the song. Once male voice comes in its regular rahman, and once the lyrics start nce again we have another change. The brass and drums blare here and there with the "nee yaaro" bit seem kinda outta place.
Really don't hear Lucky Ali's voice I'm guessing he is doing the aalap.I love the way it switchs from the main part of the song to the jazzy female voice.
Song ends kinda mysterious. Overall an above avg song. (8/10)
2) Jana Gana Mana
AR Rahman
Starts off with the electric guitar and goes to the beats by drums (sorta a march) Gives it that feel that the people are marching giving their message. The way its sung surprised me when i listened to the song a second n 3rd time cuz it could have easily been sung like a rock song and worked to...but the way its sung gets the message across.Hehe wat i still don't get is that voice he uses which sounds like a guy is choking or abt to die. The second 1/2 of the song you can hear the strumming of a guitar which sounds awesome. and adds alot of life to the song.Ends with a glass break which works well with the song. What more do I needa say a song sung by ARR himself, this is my pick of the album.
sure to be a hit with everyone even if the other songs are not (10/10)
3)Sandai Kozhi
Madhushree ,A.R.Rahman
I love the way this song starts with the female humms her bit and you can hear the water splashes. Then a drum beat is added along with the bells. (i would guess heroine and her hero are going in a maadu vandee)- this kinda has the feel of that song from Sangamam (Muthal Murai) Female finishes her piece and the main beat comes in which is very simple. And then the african string comes in (dunno wat its called but i saw the instrument at one of ARR's concert and it sounds awesome) Half way thru ARR starts with his aalap which brings alot more life to the song.
Overall this is a very simple song which will be appreciated by some but not many id assume, will gel good with the movie.very tiresome song nuthing different realli.Starts off well, middle part is good with ARR, and ends nice.
(4/10)
4) Dol Dol dol
Shaheen
The first real trance number in the album starts with the female voice and gets changed into the eletronic instrument (I LOVE THAT EFFECT) Has a great beat & will be a number which might make it to the clubs in india. But what I like about this song the most which sets it apart from the rest of the trance numbers ive heard before is the use of the brass and strings here and there. Gives it a different feel. Can't realli give a review for trance music, just has abunch of beats that are well done and ARR adds in the voice effect realli nicely.Another class touch is the addition of the traditional drums at the end. I just loved the way he adds in the traditional touch at the very end of this song and Yarkei Thiri (Fannah)
Again I feel this song will get mixed feelings like Goodbye Nanbha from the masses because its trance and for apart from the norm.
(9/10)
5) Nenjam Ellam
Andnan Sami , Sujatha
Starts off with the running beat (iono gives me that sneaky feeling) i can jsut see the hero & heroine playfully playing hide and seek or sumthing. I had earlier posted sum lyrics which were from one of vairumuthus poems to show the styling of one of the songs. And this is the song which the lyrics are literally just 1-2 words phrases by the artists. That's wat realli gives this song a repeated listening quality to it. The beats and melody is nothing out of the ordinary or spell bounding til about 2:00 min into the song where we get more string based instruments and the beat changes a little for that interlude. Music goes back to the beat which it had before. Near the end has lots of beats going on, woulda been nice to just have the vocals carry the ending of the song away.
If it wasn't for the way the song was sung this would have gotten a 5 but due to the singers this one gets a (7/10)
6) Yakka Thiri (Fannah))
A.R.Rahman , Sunitha Sarathy , Shalini
The second all out trance number in the album. Loving this track. Many who have heard it have commented that the beginning sounds like the beginning from "I wanna be free" from Tezeeb (also by ARR) but I'd like to note the fact that the sound which is heard that alternates between the two speakers in the very beginning is sumthing that is doen in many trance numbers no matter wat the language, so of course it'll that sound will be similair but thats about all the similairities between this song and "I wanna be Free"
The beginning you can hear ARR going "Fannah" and the song slowly brings in the beat to get you going into the song. Later the rest of the singers come in with the lyrics while ARR says "Anbeeee." The beat picks up when there is abt 3 minutes remaining. This is when we start getting into the meat of the song. Addition of sum string types of instruments in each speaker. The female voice is great and then gets computerized which is a nice touch. Female chorus sings Yarkei Thiri making you just kinda wanna jump along with the song. Anither pick up with 1:20 left in the song. From there til the end is all ARR all the way. This is wat i was commenting on before with the addition of the traditional touch at the end. We have ARR singing the carnatic notes til the end of the song which makes this song stand out from the typical trance number. And the song ends great with ARR's voice trailing offf saying "Fannaaa"
Again since this is a trance number it will most likely get mixed reviews but outta the rest of the trancy type of number in the album this one will most likely be the most accepted.

THE TUNES SOUND OK BUT THE LYRICS HAVE NO MEANING TO THEM. I THINK THIS IS AN AVERAGE ALBUM

on: Wed Mar 24 14:02:21 EST 2004
both albums have the same music.. 6 songs alltogether.. If you hear Tamil and then hindi you will never buy Hindi version.. The tunes are setup for the tamil version .. So we will influence the change in hindi..

But Malayali
I heard the Tamil version also yest. But unfortunatley I felt it will never reach near to the Hindi version. I felt the lyrics as adjusted. May be it's bcoz I heard the Hindi version first.I think the songs are prepared for the Hindi film. Bcoz just check the theme music in Both Tamil and Hindi. It's Oh YUVA YUVA....
And it's the name of the Hindi film...

shani the music is created for the lyrics of Vairamuthu in tamil and it is transformed to hindi.. About Adnan sami and Lucky ali. You know wat, they had worked with ARR before in the film boys too. but tat wasnt a hindi film.. I am not arguing with you.. I told you wat i think.. May be you are rite.. Anyway.

malayali chetta.. i think u do not understand tamil that's why u did not like the tamil version.. anyway's tamil lyrics are much better and vairamuthu is a genius.. The song Fanah is one of the poem which vairamuthu wrote long back in a magazine and it's been used for that song. what's anyway dhaka laga bhuka.. (they cannot even be translated)... the only song which has better lyrics.. is kabhi neem.. neem.. kabhi shahad.. they sound.. poetic.. in hindi. that's the only song which stands lyrically better in hindi.. anyway everyone has a personal opinion..
