Anyone who thought quality has become extinct in Indian mainstream cinema, go watch this! Ram Gopal Varma, who has drifted between comedy, horror, feel-good and the underworld with equal poise and class, does it again. This time he betters even "Satya" with the more poignant handling of his protagonists. Devgan is damn cool. None would have done better justice to the role of Malik Bhai with such a lazy elegance. For a veteran like Mohanlal, supercop Srinivasan is cakewalk. He is absolutely delightful to watch and lends a matchless dignity to his character. His heavily accented Hindi brings a fresh and natural air to the proceedings. A real class act. I hear that the national media are raving about his "cool and casual" performance. But for me, the best thing is undoubtedly Vivek Oberoi. He is one bundle of talent. There was this other topic in this forum, discussing why young actors don't make it big in Malayalam. And when I say we don't have talented young actors, I mean we don't have actors like THIS. "Company", among so many good things, marks the entry of this hugely talented and charismatic actor. The way he steals the show from seasoned actors like Lal and Devgan, you wouldn't believe that this is actually his first movie! If the discerning viewer in you is still alive, please go and watch this. In an age of candyfloss K3Gs and massive ego trips like "Aalavanthaan" and "Praja", you won't be getting many a "Company".
