Most of Dileep movies are entertaining comedies. Other that the 'comedy mixed with sentiments' storyline, the reason they click is because of the supporting cast mainly consisting of harishree,innocent, jagathy, saleem kumar, haneefa, indrans to name a few.

It is not because of the so-called myth that 'Dileep is a very nice actor'. Imagine watching parakkum thalikka w/o harishree or CID moosa w/o harisree/oduvil or the famous kalyanaraman comedy sequences w/o innocent/saleem/the rest.

Bottomline is what attracts you to a Dileep movie is everything but Dileep...unlike Devasuram where you want to see the 'Neelakandan' transformation again and again or Nair Saab when Mamooty's rash dialogues were the high point or Manichithratazhu when the movie lit up with the entry of a saffron clad Lal.

My forecast: Dileep's run is short-lived.

  Think about parakkum thalika,CID Moosa,kalyana Raman without Dileep. Do u think the movies will be hit?
  
  Ultimately if the movie is to be good then good supporting cast is also required. But this in no way reduces the importance of the hero in these kind of movies.
  If u say that these movies are crap and pure slapstick then I may agree with u, but dont say that these films will be a hit if some others acted instead. Think about a CID moosa/Prakkum thalika/Kalyana Raman with Lal/Mammooty and all the supporting cast. It will be a washout.
  
  Dont tell that Manichitrathazhu is a typical Lal movie. It was a Fazil movie and Lal helped to raise its class.

  That is true.........definitely it will be a washout..............kaaranam itharam thara cinemakalil ee great actors abhinayichaal aarkkum ishtappedilla..........these movies are typical 'komali' movies

  I think u r trying to conceal Aram+aram,Vandanam,HHPH,Kuttettan,Thandram,Mr.Barmachari,Kakkakuyi etc. This so Called "Great" actors done those movies.
  
  So, for your sake if we admit the so called dileep movies were Komali movies - the difrrence is all movies(in this category) belongs to dileep were huge hits and for the "others" it was huge lost. Those who are backing with comedies in dileep movies are there in others movies also. But the fact was the chwemistry between dileep and his Co is working fine and the same thing is not working for Lal.U can understand this by comapring Dileep - Salim Kumar in Kalyana Raman and Lal- Salim Kumar in Kilichundan.
  
  Conclusion :-
  The public took dileep in their heart. If small mistakes or small loops in the screenplay or direction will be forget by them because they adore him very much.
  
  In case of lal, the public was seeing him in those same roles in the last 25 years and again if he is trying to repeat they simly reject him. The real impact is they are making a hatredness by seeing his repeating roles.
