There is one question I am asking myself for the last Two weeks..Is anybody acted in Films for more than 25 years? or Mohanlal is the first actor to do so? If yes, we have to congratulate
him....But then we have to forget, Thikkurishi, Nazeer, Ummar, Bahadoor, Jose Prakash, Jagathi Sreekumar, Mala, Bharat Gopi, etc.etc..(more than 50, may be…)
As a Malayali, I am not agreed with this type of
Celebrations..This is another Business..and also not for the ordinary peoples..(you have to buy some Gold for getting a ticket...you heard
this before? simply cheating the peoples) ..So they decided to avoid ordinary "Panna Nattukar" (sorry for using this word) who is the main
cause of his 25 years of stay in the Industry and giving all the tickets to the "High Society - upper class" (are they?) citizens of
Kerala.
What are you thinking about this, Am I correct or not?

Typical thought process of a "Pinthiripan Malu"... :)
... Obviously you are WRONG...
If you didnt know, its all about money... Obviously Lal is not the first to have acted for 25 years.... Taking one example Prem Nazeer was in the field for close to 40/50 years (approx)...
But times have changed drastically now.... You have to find ways of remaining in the limelight to sustain your success...
The so called "Panna Natukar" that you have mentioned have caused their own downfall with their complex of being superior intellectuals... They are very well educated about their RIGHTS but least bothered about their RESPONSIBILITIES... so enjoy...
So whats your problem in any case that Lal is celebrating his 25th Year in films... Probably JEALOUSY... :))

Suresh Gopi would soon be completing 50 years in the industry. He had acted as a 4 year old kid in "Odayilninnu" ! May be he too can plan something. No body prevents any body here! Cine industry means busines and not charity....

Lal has been the most successful Superstar in Malayalam and he is loved by all. This 25 year celebration is just a occation to show the viewers affection to him.
Then the ticket (buy Gold get pass) is only for the VIP and VVIP seats. Then many other programs are being arranged as part of the celebration like photo exebition etc. Then sponsors are needed for a arranging such a large scale function.

Lal's contribution to cini industry is great and no one could deny it. So, I don't think anything wrong in celebrating his success.

well, the 25th year celebrations did the trick, created the sympathy waves and helped Aroma Mani (Balettan's producer) get his money...
that was all it was, plain and simple.
Didn't Lal so deperately needed that hit??
IMHO

hi Linus
what about mammooo.............If lal had struggled to get a hit after few flops, then mammoo had struggled several times to get such a hit...........still he is struggling.............
Then, how did u get the word 'sympothy wave'.......from media (I feel it is from sify.com), they say anything and everything.........Do you think out of sympothy people would go for movie by spending money from their pocket? .......In that case Shakheela, suresh gopi, mammoo etc should get hits...............It is just because of lal's image 'Balettan' has become such a superhit. People want to see him in a different role . this movie in fact is not a great movie from lal's side compared to his previous........still it became superhit means u can imagine how much people r influenced by him.

what i meant was it was more a business trick than an overflow of emotions from his fans-the silver jubilee stuff. The point is, the question of whether he deserves it or not doesn't arise,as it was all managed,if not by his powerful friends,Lal himself...
Nothing wrong though. It's all business and Lalettan made a pretty good (i won't say desparate)move!!!

Hahahaha,
I have been watching reactions to the Lal25 celebrations for the past few months... It has brought out a lot of venom from the mouths of his detractors and some Jealous co-stars too...
Its only after the Lal25 celebrations that Mammooty started to remember the Malayalam Cinema's 75th year... isnt it coincidental?
Then there is also a fact that many others have been in the industry for more than 40 years?
Then there is a AMMA issuing a show cause notice to Lal asking why they were not informed first... well if Lal's friends organise something then what's AMMA's problem...
Anyway bottom line is always MONEY... who will risk spending money to organize the Mal 75 or Madhu's 70 or any such thing... in case of Lal 25, all the deals were stuck earlier and the big time money was made.... mostly by Suresh Kumar I believe...
Anyway to all the Jealous folks out there... your bitterness is just adding to our celebrations...

I heard Mohanlal has lost a lot of weight...Even more than in Balettan. Is it true??? I heard that even though the movie is not that great..the comedy is greatt. I cant wait to see the movie. I believe now that Mohan lal has lost weight he can be some competition to the younger stars. But as for acting there is no competition. All you dileep fans watch out...Mohanlal now it at the same physical condition as dileep...That was the only thing holding mohanlal back before.

Mohanlal has been the most versatile actor ever in the malayalam movie industry. He along with Mammooty to a certain lifted the mallu movie industry from the cheap 'sukumaran-soman-seema-jayabharathi' movies to the amazing 'never ever before' reached heights..in the early and mid 90's..Lots of other actors have been around 25 years or more..but how many of them have changed the character of an entire movie industry...of course Lal25 is a 50% business trick to boost his image..but its difficult to question if its reason...

www.themahal.com jess....!!!or try 1800imall.com its an excellent dvd from SAINA, the best malayalam dvd makers. Surya movies sucks, and they should be taken to court for making bad dvds that will stop playing after two times. Also they are cutting out scenes from movies while they make the dvds.
