It is interesting to note some of the Guru - Shishyas among the malayalam film directors

Hariharan (guru) - Bhadran (shishya)
But their style is entirely different.
Fazil - Siddique Lal
SiddiqueLal - Rafi (RafiMecartin)
RafiMecartin - Shafi
Priyadarsan - Sibi Malayil (he was priyan's assistant in one movie - I think poochakkoru mookkuthi)
Bharathan - Jayaraj
Bharathan - Ajayan (perunthachan fame)
Bharathan - Kamal
(But these guys had a problem regarding the story of Champakkulam Thachan)
Kamal - Lal Jose
Kamal - Akbar Jose

  Priyadharsan, Siddique_lal, Sibi Malayil were all disciples of Fazil.
